• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New RTS Special Break In Ride

Recently Traded my 2014RTL for a New 2016 RTS Special Triple Black. This last weekend I did the break in Ride of over 600 miles. Pretty much followed the guidelines of the Owners manual. First 200 easy on the brakes, and get the tires broke in. First 600, no heavy throttle, Keep the rpm range moving around quite a bit. My third bike and I pretty much have followed the owners manual instructions on break in with no problems.

Does everyone pretty much follow the guidelines in the owners manual, or do some have the idea, you ride it like you stole it? What other opinions or ideas?
 
Where we live

every ride is a break in ride. Lots of hills and curvy roads so I am always varying RPM's and engine load. So Yes, I follow the break in guidelines, but not on purpose. :ohyea:
 
Never....

I have always riden my bikes and the spyder flat out but never maintaining any constant speed or rpm. But otherwise ryde like I will once it is past it's first service. But that is just me and my way and it has rendered a long line of very good performing bike and Three wheeler with very little problems....:thumbup:
 
When I was working I had quite a bit of interaction with the auto manufactures. Their general take on break-in was that it was the time when things could go wrong and if the driver/rider is riding cautiously the risk to man or machine is much less. The machine has already been run at or near max throttle and generally some sort of simulated road testing has been completed. With the exception of the brakes, most of the rest of the unit has already seen some sort of max or near max use. It still doesn't hurt to be nice to it for a while and do proper heat cycling and show the new machine a some respect.
