• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. New RT with 73 miles with po136 code............

Wanderer

New member
I picked my new 2011 RT SM5 yesterday and drove it home in the rain... ...my first time on a bike in 20+ years.... After 72 miles the check engine light came on for the last mile home:gaah:

The code that came up was PO136......dealer says maybe ground, maybe o2 sensor, so I took off the battery cover.... All tight......started it 3 times to move it.. The code cleared:thumbup:

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Greg

P0136

Involved Module = ECM

Description: LAMBDA sensor 2 uptream cat. range/performance

Cause: Damaged O2 sensor, circuit wires, connector or ECM output pins.

Corrective action: Have dealer provide the service..

Thank you effgjamis.

My dealer first said ground problems but I checked the battery and ground. OK Then they said maybe O2....

Went out for a ride because codes cleared on their own overnight.... Getting the feel for the :spyder2: and really loving it.... but then it threw 3 codes which I did not write down(need paper and pencil in trunk) but then they cleared... came back..... cleared..... new code P2416 and Po136........:sour:...... no limp mode so I came home... now have ~135 mi on it...

Strangely my display replaced the engine temp gauge with what I suspect is the indicator for the automatic rear air suspension. Mine is the cheap old RT.... nothing fancy...Stopped and turned it off and restarted... it went away....:hun:

Dealer said P2416 and PO136 are O2 codes.... He ordered new ones to replace mine if needed at 600 mi service.

This thing is great fun if we can keep the computers happy!!!

Yes this a great resource for help.

Thanks.

Greg

Thank you all for the welcome!!

My wife looked at the spyder today and asked me to find a helmet and jacket for her :yikes: she rode on my Ninja once and said NEVER AGAIN!!! The spyder may have changed her mind.

Thanks again.

With all these problems, Dealer should fix now IMO.
I owe one of the "cheap" one although my bank does agree with cheap. BakerBuilt has a add on air set up for these. I have one and it works great.
