• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I've finally joined the ranks of arachnophorians, I'd looked at Spyders several years ago, about 7-8, I think, the dealership left a very bad taste in my mind, I was at the dealer, waiting for about 1 hour before anyone even looked up from their coffee cup to try to sell an RS spyder, when a salesperson finally realized I wasn't part of the coffee break crew, and asked what I was looking for, I said that I was interested in an RS, what can you tell me about it? "I don't know much except that it's got 3 wheels." I asked if the sales manager was available, he said, "that's me." I started to walk out the door at a slow trot, when he says, "do you want to test drive it?" I told him that's why I was there," he talks to the guy that had the service department printed on his shirt, and told him to take the trike out to the lot. I do the normal copy of my license and release from liability form and if I break it I buy it form, the service guy rolls the bike out to the parking lot I get on it, start out of the parking lot, make a right turn and start up the road. I see the idiot oil pressure light comes on and stays on. Now. I've just signed a waiver so I turn around and pull the bike back into the parking lot. I told the "salesman" that the oil light was on, and would he mind checking the oil. He turns to the same "service" guy and tells him to check the oil, "service" says to "salesman" I told you yesterday that I needed a quart of oil in this bike!!!
Left the dealership as quickly as I could swing my leg over my Goldwing!!
I may have been wrong to base my opinion of the Can Am on the incompetence of one poor excuse for a dealership, but it turns out that Can Am and Victory were as equally impressed as I was with them because they are no longer in business.
Fast forward, to last year or two ago, a friend of mine pulls up beside my sidecar rig at the meat market in a Viper red Can Am RT-S, probably the best looking 3 wheeled vehicle I've ever seen outside of wild customs. Charles, that's one bad looking bike, you didn't get it at "the other" dealership did you, no, I got it out off of I-26 in Columbia. Present day, actually, present day -2, my wife and I are out riding with my wife in my sidecar, she has MS and multiple myeloma, her hip was broken when we found out about her myeloma, she is weakening, we don't know if it's because of the cancer, the ms, the steroids, or ??????, but it's got to where she is unable to get herself out of the sidecar, and it is hard for me to help her get out, as well. We'd previously looked at the Can Am, but it wasn't justifiable with her still being able to ride in the sidecar, we discussed a possible move to the Can Am if I got rid of my CBR250 we could get it done, yesterday we pulled the trigger and now we are the proud owners of a new Viper Red Can Am RT-S SE5!
So that's the 50 cent Reader's Digest version of how we came to be members of the Cam Am community.
I am a retired Army Medic, thus the "Doc" handle, I hope to glean much from this forum, and at some point, start to contribute to the new members, that are trying to glean what I can........
Pictures coming up.
The bottom picture windshield I call "The Pledge of Allegiance"
The American Eagle is in the foreground, the Ten Commandments, redeemed at the Cross, and American Flag is behind them, saying that the United States is STILL One Nation Under God!"

I've been working with a young man just down the street from me, his website is http://www.signsbycolt.com/ He's done a lot of great work in a bunch of different different materials, from metal sculpture to wall designing. His work is all over Camden SC. I started working with him about 8-9 years ago, and I've watched his work improve an amazing amount since then.
