• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hey all. Been on here for a while. I don't post much. I had a 2008 Spyder GS SE5 but got rid of it because of the heat issue. I am now trading my 2011 Harley Davidson Street Glide in for a 2015 Spyder RT. yay!!! I was wanting an F3 but my wife rides with me a lot and the RT is SO comfortable. Got a great deal on it and pick it up tomorrow. Just wanted to get started on this thread with my new baby. Any comments or experiences or newbie things to know would be greatly appreciated. What the average age for RT people? I'm 36 and my main reason for choosing another Spyder is because of my arthritis. I look forward to talking and hopefully meeting some fellow Spyder riders. I will start posting pics tomorrow.

Congratulations, you will love it. There is really no comparison to the RS you had, this is a totally different machine. You are a bit younger than the average RT owner but with your arthritis you'll fit right in. Just kidding.

Congrats on your purchase! You both will definitely NOT be disappointed in your decision! The RT is an excellent bike and your 1330-equipped Spyder is an excellent compromise of cruising power and comfort. Take the ECO mode off and you will have a blast! There is plenty of room to customize it to make it your own.

Congrats!

:congrats: on your decision to buy a new RT! We love our 2014 RT Limited - it has been an AWESOME machine - just hit 20,000 miles this month. I've added a few farkles to it and you can see those in my profile under mods.

Again, enjoy! :yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

Congratulations & Welcome!

As Ann said, you are a young 'un chronologically but age is a state of mind and there are a bunch of pretty young 'uns here on SL. Be safe, have fun read your operator's guide and watch the videos. They can save your life.

RT.............IF IT'S A BASIC

As stated above ......you made a wise choice ( imho ).. I did the same thing, and for about $ 500 total have transformed it to way beyond even what the LTD offers or any RT for that matter......Check my Bio, everything is not listed ( 47 things total ).......if you want any assistance shoot me a Pm Mike :yes::yes:

Welcome..!!

and congratulations on your new ryde...:2thumbs: you'll be back out there very soon and loving it as before...read your manual cover to cover..the RT, especially the new 1330, is way different than the old RS. Lots to learn but fun as you go along. The rest you should remember...:ohyea::ohyea:

Thanks everyone. I'm getting the Black one. I hear they are the fastest. ;) I will post some pics tomorrow. I'm on here reading thru all the RT posts.

Congrats, I got my 2015 a week ago and LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
The people on this site are awesome and have given me a ton of information about the Spyder and even information on what to look for on a trip I am taking.
Couldn't ask for a better machine or group of people.
Welcome!!!

cool

Congrats! I really enjoy my RT. I had a beautiful Moto Guzzi before, but this is an entirely different beast... and i love riding it. Enjoy!!

I have been off and on 2 wheelers for most of my 49 years and when it was time to get a Touring bike, wife said she just "wasn't comfortable " on 2 wheels, "lets look at the Can-Am". Guess what? bought a 2014 RTL :spyder2: and could not be any happier. Now the Misses tells me "lets go"!:yes::yes: She and I are very comfortable on the Spyder and I do not miss the hand brake or putting my feet down at stops!
Here's to hoping you and the Wife enjoy as much as we do.

Kent.

Oh and :congrats:

Thanks everyone. I'm getting the Black one. I hear they are the fastest. ;) I will post some pics tomorrow. I'm on here reading thru all the RT posts.
