• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Riding Glasses

I purchased a 1GB (4GB available) pair of MP3/camera sunglasses today. The camera is 1.3 megapixel and is operated via an IR remote. The glasses charge and transfer files via a 2.0 USB (mini) connection. I paid $50.

I know many riders feel earbuds are dangerous when riding but I'm not among them. The camera opens up some interesting shots I couldn't otherwise get and I ride with a shorty so they're perfect for me. If it's anything you're interested in, hop over to Thinkgeek.

I also picked up some bacon-flavored gumballs while I was there. :doorag:

Would you post some pics that you took . Would like to see the quality of the pics as the camera sound like a great idea.

Quality is sufficient. I hesitate to say great because digital cameras nowadays are easily 8+ megapixel and capable of ridiculous resolutions. 1.3 is standard for cellphones and provides a resolution of 1280x1024 which is still pretty darn good for everything from desktop wallpaper to 5x7 prints.

I'll post some pics when I get a few moments. I'm installing my new machine gun barrels on my :spyder: right now so it'll be a bit. :ohyea:

Here are some pics I took with the camera glasses last night at the Grand Rapids Blues on the Mall...

Bikes of every make and model made an appearance.

A familiar scene to any :spyder2: owner as a crowd obstructs the view

I was sitting down on the curb when I snapped this shot. No one knows you're taking pictures with these things.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the camera function. While I'd like to see a 3 megapixel option, I love the candid shots I can take and not looking like a tourist when I take them.

The MP3 function sounds as good as any I've heard. Wearing a shorty and cruising around town, the sound quality is great. Over 50 mph though, the sound gets lost in the wind but I expect that with any media device.

Hey James, those pics aren't all that bad. It is a very easy way to get snapshots of what you are looking at with out all the hassle. Very Nice.
