New Rider asking about Add Ons -

Hi, New 2016 rt-se6 Red Here,
I see so many post as to nice equipment to put on a new Spyder. I am interested in starting with safety items first. Also there are so many places to purchase from. Would appreciate info as to what and where to purchase. Thanks :thumbup:

If you want your Farkle-List to start out with the safety stuff:
look to adding better headlights and foglights, and all of the brake and marker lights that you can afford! nojoke
But it really comes down to how you want to personalize your ryde! :clap:

As far as vendors: look to the Home Page: the supporting vendors are listed there, and they're all a great bunch of folks!

But I get my lights from TricLEDs...

First of all :congrats: Safety equipment right out of the box, I added the custom dynamics trunk light and the driving lights if needed.

My most recent has the LED lighted Spyderpops bumpskid.

I recommend driving about 1000 miles before adding other things. Get to know your particular machine and then you will know what YOU really want.

I have always added a different seat. I don't like the OEM mushmaster that gives me about 50 miles of comfort. Currently, both have BRP Comfort seats. Two inches back, lumbar support and all day riding comfort.

1st Safety Item is your BRAIN..... 2nd is your GUT.....
if either one or both of those 2 tell you "DON'T DO IT".... please listen to them....

as for other Safety Equipment, give consideration to good riding gear... no $12 K-mart foot-ball helmets... if you believe your brains are only worth $12, then go for it.... but 99% of us will tell you to get the good stuff....
LIGHTS.... lights are ALWAYS a good thing... being seen is a major factor in safety... front & rear... even side lights... especially if you ride at night.... after furnishing yourself with personal safety equipment, then give consideration to keeping your SPYD3R in TIP-TOP shape.... visit your local shop for scheduled maintenance... remember; a missed visit that may cost you $100, is a hell'a'va'lot cheaper than broken bones because your brake pads failed....
ride safely and enjoy your new toy....

Ride Ride Ride, then decide. Your RT is very capable and relatively "safe" just as it is.
Don't rush into any purchase, unless it is a proper alignment.

I absolutely agree......with one slight modification above in red.
That includes an opportunity to test the headlights before you sink money into that.
