• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Rally Name!

Since Gina is going to have to change the name of the Spyder in the Smokies Rally, let's input some possible names to change it to.

My vote is: "The Great Smokies Spyder Rally"

That sounds good to me.
Is this an assumption that there will be another rally in the area next year? I sure hope so.

When I spoke to her Sunday morning they were definitely planning on having another one next year. Not sure it will be at Fontana Resort though. A lot of people didn't like not having cell or internet service and the reserve fee at Fontana is substantial. Time will tell. I will say that I was very encouraged from speaking to her and I think with some volunteers to help her, it will be a great event regardless of where we have it in the area.

If 'Spyders in the Smokies' is out, why not just flip that around... & go for the 'Smokies on the Spyders' rally??

Or something simple, like just 'Smokin' Spyders'?

I'm sure there's lotsa catchy names out there.

Spoke with her Sunday morning she has a lot of excitement and good ideas and vision of what the majority of attendees are wanting. She has a big job ahead of her, but I'm confident she is up to the challenge.

We always do our meetings in Maggie Valley. There are loads of hotels in the area, good places to eat, and still good access to numerous roads to ride. I didn't have a spyder when they held it in Maggie Valley the last time, but it appears to have been a big success. The slingshot people had their rally there this year, and seemed to have had a blast.

Could the the summer ralley be moved away from bike week?

Ann, he was actually planning a Spyder event in Myrtle Beach next year to coincide with Bike Week.

I believe that the next event name would not be able to have Smokies in it at all. He could still contest (read that sue) it.

FYI "Spyders In The Smokies" was a Spyder Talk event to start with, Larry doesn't own it. I believe Vertical Scope owns the url when they bought Spyder Talk from Marc.
