• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I tried a holder like that one and I lost a few bottles going down the road. I have not had an issue with the drink2go holder ever, and looks better and flashy and great on the bike.

voltage

To make sure your battery is getting charged. It plugs into two of the wires the temp gauge used, no problem.

so I assume that below 12 I am not charging? I not an electrical whizzzzz...... if you can't tell

thanks for your response

see ya on the road some day;)

drink holder

I also put a drinks2go holder on my RS and it works like a charm. It sure does come in handy on these hot alabama summer days!!!

I really like those too----

Rumor has it that a soon-to-be new SpyderLovers vendor will be stocking and selling them...... ;-)

Keep eyes open in October.... ;-)

Stevedfive, which two wires. I just popped the temp gauge and there are three wires. Sorry for the dumb question.

12 volts is the battery and when the engine is running it goes between 13.3-13.8 volts. Its the Red and Black, the other is the sending unit. The pigtail is the lights wire.

I bought the drink holder at Bass Pro Shop, its a Ram Drink Holder.

For the drink holder, I removed the gas gauge and taped up the plugs. Then I used the 2 1/2" round plastic double-face taped plate that came with my GPS as the backing plate. I used the Ram ball mount as a template to mark where to drill the four holes. I bought four 3/4" length, 10-32, stainless hex cap screws and lock nuts at Lowes for mounting. Put the plate on the back, put the Ram ball mount on the front and tightened down the screws. I also ordered 20oz Butler Mugs but they have not arrived yet.

For the Volt meter. I removed the temp gauge and bought a 2 1/16 volt gauge to replace it. I bought 16g bullet wire ends to connect the wires from the volt gauge to the existing 3 prong wire end. I used the red + and the black -. I then plugged the volt gauge lighting wire to the single wire that was plugged into the bottom of the temp gauge. I just used a 16g flat male wire connector for that. Bam! It was done. I hope that makes sense.

I also have a drink2go holder for the passenger shown below. But I added a small rubber strap and a key ring to go around the bottle neck so it wont fly out when the water gets low.

drink holder

the drink2go holder does not require permanent mounting and can be removed for washing or whatever. I did not want something that would have to be bolted on.
