• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Left Yellowstone yesterday at 6 AM.. original thoughts were to head north and go through glacier then head home... got as far as Belgrade Montana and made a change in plans. Lots of wildfire smoke so decided not to go and do that.. found some great back roads heading west.. 14 1/2 hours later made it home.. have not checked mileage but know I was over 750 and under 800. Yep have to admit I was tired in bed five minutes after I got home. But the riding was awesome even though hot. So what was the record for me? Both hours ridden and mileage covered in one day. Hmmmm maybe I can do an iron butt!!!
first thing on the agenda today is to unpack and get the bugs off Ms. Spyder.. Took lots of pictures on the Yellowstone trip but unfortunately cannot figure out how to post.. gaining that knowledge is going to be the winter project.
everybody have a great day

Glad you made it back safely. You are pretty athletic to ride all those hours and miles at one time. I am now pretty tired when I make a three hundred mile day.

Do you ryde by yourself most of the time and if you do, have you experienced any problems with that?

At least 90% of my ryding is by myself. Have never had any issues that could not be dealt with reasonably well. Have I broke down sure but I have roadside assistance and able to easily deal with that.. spyderlovers has been absolutely the best help for all of my needs as I travel. Folks here will tell you I am totally not mechanic. I have learned to not let fear interfere with my joy of ryding. Ms Spyder is at 35k. My longest solo trip was about 12,000 miles over six weeks time. Any specific questions you have please ask and I will share my attitude towards that and how I would approach it.

Have a great day..

Amazing...

WOW! I see an Iron Butt ryde in your future, heck you were only 200mi from your first. Congrats on your safe return home and your ryde. I am also trying to figure out the picture posting process. I look forward to the 2012 Oyster Run and finally meeting you.

Patrick.

I am in awe. I can't imagine such a trip. Such a trip would exhaust me in a car as a passenger. nojoke
I am glad you had a safe trip. IMO, that is an athletic feat.

Karyl, you are one amazing woman! So glad you had a great day and a great ryde! I love your adventures.

I AGREE

:clap:Your Amazing!! Farthest I have done is 150 Miles in an afternoon! (No $$ to travel yet!)

Question ??? In your travels did you feel safe with the Spyder parked outside your room at a Motel ALL night and did you ever worry it might NOT be there in the morning???

I wonder if people scout out the area,s there going to stay or are Most off the highway places safe??:dontknow:

Nope..never worried

.. my goal is to always average $50 a night for my room.. at that nightly rate security is not on their payroll!!! I do have her replacement insurance.. hopefully I will never have to use... I always try to get a ground floor room where I can park outside or close by.. that does not always happen.. I have thought about waking up and having Ms. Spyder gone missing.. so I think through what would I do if that happened so that I don't panic.. therefore do not have to worry because I have a plan in case it happens hope I don't have to apply the plan.. one thing I do not do is budget for extra days without my wheels :yikes:

Glad you're home!

Karyl,
Dave & Teddy & Faran are right...quite the woman, and a real inspiration to the rest of us!
Your ryde would be the equivalent of Janet & I heading from KC down to Cuba to say hi to Len, the ride back to KC, PLUS heading back to Cowtown for my glasses, my phone, or whatever else I likely left sitting on the counter after shooting the breeze with Jimmy...:joke:

Blessings, and we look forward to seeing you again! Spyderfest IV isn't that far away!!

Pete & Janet

I know your feelings! I did a 750 mile day last year and I was beat! As for photos, you should open a free account on photobucket, upload you pics and post a link to your album.
