• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just purchased a 2011 RT SM5 for the SO. I am impressed and she is happy. Any know issues with the 2011?

:congrats: on your new ride. 2011 had some early on throttle body issues that were corrected by a BUDS program change. If that has been done, you should be pretty much good to go.

We have a 2011 with 16K miles now and no issues whatsoever. 2011 and 2012 are considered the best two years of the RT with 998 rotax engine.

:welcome: And :congrats: On joining the Spyder revaluation.

If you purchased it from a dealer ask for the history of your Spyder. If purchased from an individual then take the vin number to a dealer and ask if they would pull up any history that maybe in the national database.

 To many miles of smiles.

Welcome..!! Welcome..!!

congrats on your new ryde..:2thumbs: welcome to the roadster world and this site..you should be fine good year and never bad to double check the vin# with a dealer so you know your up to date...

:welcome: and :congrats: on your :spyder:.......................:agree: with the other comments about checking with a dealer to insure that you are up-to-date on any and all issues. I am at 37,000 miles with minimal issues on our 2011 RT Ltd.

Awesome!! Thanks for the prompt replies. The trike was purchased from the widow of a rider who passed after a long illness. Sad story. It only has 3k miles and it's in immaculate condition. Will get the VIN checked.
Question? What is the proper oil change interval for the RT? The manual seems to indicate 3k.

Oil changes...
They were originally supposed to be done every 3,000 miles. There was an update for the bikes, that extended that to about 4,500 miles. Your dealer can tell you if the bike had the update done to it.
