• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Owner

Thanks

Wow, thanks for such a warm welcome. There was really more to the story, but to cut through the details, my oldest daughter told me that if I bought her mom a motorcycle and she got into an accident, she through I should be charged with man slaughter (needless to say she hates my motorcycle). Now when we got home with the new Spyder, she was the first one to jump on and take a couple laps around the block (she does ride their 4 wheelers, so shifting, etc. was no problem.

Went for a short ride today, but plannning on running the River Road tomorrow taking in a breakfast and lunch (will be her longest ride so far).

She has put in thousands of miles on the back of my Ultra, sleeping, reading books, sight seeing and just enjoying the ride and always seemed happy. But nowhere as happy as she is now. Just hope she does not get to comfortable because my Harley will never be able to keep up with the Spyder.

Getting long now, but if anyone is passing through S/E Louisiana and see a black and white Spyder and a black Harley Ultra flag us down. Also if you are in the area let us know, we may be able to meet and have a little chat over lunch, coffee, etc. Thanks

Well, not exactly. My wife has been wanting to ride her own for some time. Having only ridden with me and our age (60+ so you are never too old to start), we made the decision that maybe a Spyder was the right thing for her. Well, we did it and in a couple days she has been taking short rides with me either following or leading. I must say that this decision was right and she loves her Spyder. Right now, she say that she will only ride shorter rides or like up the Natchez Trace (little traffic) and will ride with me on the Harley on long trips. Somehow, I think as she becomes more comfortable she will change her mind.

I would also like to thank everyone on this board for their help in this decision. I've done a good bit of research mostly on this board and your help was very valuable. Please keep up the very valuable information, I may not post too often, but I'm here and reading. Again thanks for everything.

:2thumbs:Tell your wife to keep on riding, we did the same as you and now I'm with the big dogs on my spyder:spyder2:. You are only as old as you act.:congrats:
