• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well, not exactly. My wife has been wanting to ride her own for some time. Having only ridden with me and our age (60+ so you are never too old to start), we made the decision that maybe a Spyder was the right thing for her. Well, we did it and in a couple days she has been taking short rides with me either following or leading. I must say that this decision was right and she loves her Spyder. Right now, she say that she will only ride shorter rides or like up the Natchez Trace (little traffic) and will ride with me on the Harley on long trips. Somehow, I think as she becomes more comfortable she will change her mind.

I would also like to thank everyone on this board for their help in this decision. I've done a good bit of research mostly on this board and your help was very valuable. Please keep up the very valuable information, I may not post too often, but I'm here and reading. Again thanks for everything.

Congats its good to here this. I wish I could convince my spouse to actually be an active rider of our :spyder:At this time she has only gone around a very large lot which is not used at the weekends but as far as on the road its No.

I have however found out that a resonably local dealership will be showing the new RT during November and have booked a test ride already for that day. My spouse says that if the back seat and footrests are much more comfortable than our RS then lets do it, so all is not lost, as long as she is comfortable thats the most important thing for me as well. Some are just not cut out to be a main rider you are lucky in this instance. My spouse prefers the passenger seat anyway as we have over the past 10 years, riden together over 120 thousand miles.

Good luck have fun the both of you and like you I am soon to be 65 too and the :spyder:has given us a new lease on life which I am taking every opportunity to enjoy, Go for it.

welcome
Glad to have you aboard.............my wife leaves Michigan Sunday and knowing her, she will take the long way home and the "Trace" is a favorite ride. I'll have her look out for a :spyder2:as she travels South. (She is in her car)

:congrats: and welcome

By the way, did you know that "Andouille" translates to "Ding Bat" when it is not used to refer to a sausage?:roflblack:

:congrats:welcome Good choice of "training" on The Trace. I love that ride, although it's not exactly in our back yard. I'm happy if we can do the Blue Ridge, The Trace and then one or two more trips each year. It's been years since I've been a back seat rider, but there are times I wouldn't mind still being one - especially on the new RT's. We used to tour two up on a BMW 1200LT and it was so comfortable. I'd nap in the afternoons after filling up on a yummy lunch. Miss that sometimes when I'm on my own ride and feeling that mid-afternoon slump. Also miss being able to sight see to my heart's content since we know a driver has to pay a bit more attention to the road. Either way, we're all pretty lucky to be out there motoring whether it's on two wheels, three or two-up. Enjoy!

:congrats:welcome :agree:Igot mine when I was 50.Been to "spyders in the smokies" since

:congrats: I had mine for less than a month, and my wife began riding it more than I was able to. I ended up buying one for her as well, and there is nothing better than riding together on the weekends with our son. I am sure your wife will get used to it in no time, and then she may be trying to turn you into a passenger. ;)

Have fun and stay safe. :)

congratultions....the spyder seems to have a strange affect on people. I've had mine about 2 weeks & now have a sister that never wanted to be near motorcycles asking if she can try it in a parking lot or even just ride back seat. Enjoy!!
