• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New owner wonders about mpg

Glad we have another Spyder in the area

Hi Toni,
Average is 30 to 35 mpg. Many posts on this if you do a search.
:congrats: on getting your new Spyder. Hope we get to meet soon. :2thumbs:

I started at 33, now it is around 30 with the Hindle exhaust. My 1500cc Kawasaki Mean Streak got 44, so I was a little bit surprised by the difference too. Of course I never went over 100 on the Mean Streak either! The spyder is a different story...

Interesting...I think I'm actually getting better mileage with the hindle...the stock catalytic converter eats up mileage, I think (Scotty...where are you?)...

Perhaps you have changed your riding style with the hindle...a little faster overall, faster with the throttle?? It does sound MUCH better!!

Others have noted the same thing. Free flowing exhaust allows the engine to run a little free'er also.

Yep, that leans out the motor from the original fuel setting, so the computer needs to feed more fuel to the engine to compensate for the extra air flow. More air needs more fuel to burn...in general.
