• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New owner to be question

I traded in my FJR 1300 for our 2010 RT and the only thing I miss is the power. We love our Spyder and I don't think we will ever go back to 2 wheels.

What started me thinking about a trike was the fact that I dropped my 2 wheeler in a slow speed turn, nothing serious but it started me thinking about my riding. I had noticed that I did not enjoy the twisties as much as I used to and that stopping and supporting the bike had become a bit clumsy. Couple that with the fact I turn 70 and that my wife worries about me when I am on the bike led me to consider the RT.

I have a got feeling that although I might miss the 2 wheeler, the time is right to make the move.

I can echo those feelings. Maybe it is time after all. I still have my two-wheelers, but I ride the Spyder almost exclusively these days...for just the reasons you mentioned, as well as for the comfort. I was the most uneasy riding two-up, but didn't have to do that anymore after Nancy got her Spyder, but we missed touring on the same machine together, so I bought an RT. I doubt you will miss the bike much after you get the hang of the Spyder. JMHO

Better to switch now before something happens with your 2 wheeler..Its your decision, but if you love to ride, you will be switching eventually anyway...Time marches on!!!

I agree with all the other positive comments. I was 72 and having doubts about the two wheel thing. I was lucky enought to keep my ST1100 when I got my 2008 GS/RS. I the first year od Spydership. I rode about a thousand on the ST, about nine on the Spyder. The second about 500 on the ST about the same on spyders. The third about 50 and I said, that was it. I sold it to a fellow PGR member who said, he had been "lusting" after it. Every now and then a twinge" for two.
Then at the same time on PGR mission, I have seen more then one who probably would be betteroff/safer on a trike.I am 78 now.

IN A WORD ....YES

I have been riding 2 wheels most of my life 56 years riding. I sold all my
motorcycles when I got the Spyder, however that did not last long....
I promptly bought another ST1300 Honda for those days I want to play
on the twisty roads in the in the Redwoods and the Sierra Gold Country
by my home.... Make no mistake the Spyder is a blast but if you are addicted
to the thrill of 2 wheels be sure and keep one for those days you need a fix.

I put a down payment for a 2014 RT. I currently ride a Honda. I will need to trade in my 2 wheeler to afford the RT. My question is:

Have any of you who went from a two wheeler to an RT missed your bike or regretted giving it up?
