• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Owner of SpyderLovers.com 02-19-2026

Lamonster

SpyderLovers Founder
This is one of the hardest post I've ever made here. I knew I was in bad shape but I didn't know how bad. I haven't been able to be very active here for a long time and the moderators and the admin have been doing all the work I use to do when I started the board back in 2007. This was the first Spyder only message board. The only other board was a sub-board of Doo-Talk. The group grew very fast and soon after we were meeting each other at rallies and owners events. The Spyder took off and we all were there to be a part of it. I remember my Goldwing group saying the Spyder was nothing more than a bar hopper and you couldn't put any real miles on them like they did on their Wings. My first trip to Sturgis I rode 1050 miles in one shot. I made sure that setup right this trike was much more than a bar hopper. It earned some respect then.

I have plenty of great stories about my journey with Can-Am and the Spyder but those will be posted on my new Blog page "Lamonster Tales". I want to tell my story to the world while I'm still here. Having major health issues has made me realize that my time here is very limited and I don't want to leave my wife with the burden of leaving this site to her. AnthonyG has agreed to keep running it pretty much the way it is but he is now in full control of what he does with it.

Much love and respect to you. And thank you for all you've done.

You already left your mark on the world of reverse trikes in a positive way. Whether or not you are able to go on running this forum, you have already made a large contribution. Just because you don't run the forum any more is no reason you can't stop by and leave a message now and then. I hope your health improves.

Much love and respect to you brother. I have been around here for quite some time. Seems like I keep switching things up as well. I was with you on the M109 board and even joined the Goldwing board when that was going to be my next bike. That never happened but it seems like the Spyder thing was it for me. I was even fortunate enough to meet and talk to you in Maggie Valley on a couple of occasions and even got to ride your F3 when the dealerships wouldn't even let me. Hang on brother and know you are always in my prayers.

LaMonster, I first found you on the Vulcan Riders site and learned a lot from you about my Voyager (I still miss that bike). When I switched to the Spyder, I found Spyder Lovers and have been a fan and avid reader since.

I will say thank you for both sites, and please know that God still has plans for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I always like to hear the background, life's adventures, how or what they did in life to attain who they are today. I will be reading all the "tales", and have also read BajaRon's "chronicles". Already learned something, that LaMonster was with BRP right at 2008 time of introduction of RT (or something around that time). Great F3 burnout, by the way!!!! Its just interesting how God can give someone certain abilities in a certain field or that fills a "would be void" if they didn't follow thru on taking those abilities to help us out live a better life, in this case Spyder World!!! Thanks for this forum as we have some of the top performers who can help us out with maintenance issues or whatever it might be. We just don't understand how we can have premature health problems in our minds because of our finite minds, but God has a plan in HIS infinite wisdom.

This board was everything when I purchased my first Spyder (or motorcycle of any kind) back in 2012, and it made such a huge difference in my experience, and this continues to be a site I visit, learn from, and enjoy several times a week.

Lamonster, you have my deep appreciation and best wishes. I know we all hope you'll still drop in from time to time.

As a new Spyder owner I never knew how much I owed you. This forum provided a wealth of information for me and helped me work out exactly what is was looking for. I came here from GL1800Riders.com - another of your creations and the best reference for Goldwing riders. Your DNA is strong in that one, and I suspect it will stick around here as well.

Thank you for all you have done for the riding community.

Best wishes - you just never know what will be around the next corner.
