• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New owner, first ride

I picked up my Spyder today. I was disappointed to find my "new" Spyder had 90 miles on it and a scratched rim, but I got free a trunk liner to make up for it.

I'm new to motorcycles, so I rode the 20 miles home on side-streets and avoided the Interstate. My top speed never exceeded 45. After I got home, I looked for any reason to run errands for my wife. By the end of the evening, I was up to 30 miles and took it on the highway for 2 miles. It was a little weird doing 45 mph on the cloverleaf on-ramp, but doing 65 mph was a rush. I'm looking forward to riding to work in the morning.

Here's a pic, a stock yellow manual:

My first mod, the trunk latch spring, should be done tonight.

welcome I too had some minor dings in the front (from storage), only had 40 miles on it. I asked the Dealer to replace it, they told me not a problem. Waiting for my front end and my 4" riser to come in still. Enjoy your spyder and safe riding!!! :congrats:

Why did your new Spyder have 90 miles on it? Were they using it as a demo? If so, did you know it was a demo? If not, that wasn't cool and I think you deserved a lot more than a trunk bag from them. :gaah:

As long as you are happy with the transaction and the bike, thats all that matters.

Awesome, GIJoe!

And when you're not ryding, study the dvd. And when you are not doing that, read every one of the 88,671 posts (so far) here!

(I can't wait for your movie to come out. There's supposed to be a Spyder in it.)
