• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. New Owner 2014 RT S SE6 - New Member - Key Issue

:welcome:and :congrats: on your new 14'RTS-SE6, I just bought my 2014RTS-SE6 on July 31st. the 1330's are AWESOME, have fun with your new ride. You are going to like this machine. :nopic:Deanna777

FWIW, my 2014 developed key problems and was not on the list involved in the TSB. In fact, when my bike did not arrive on time my dealer called BRP and was told that the delivery date was delayed so they could ship it with the "new" key and tumblers. After mine developed it's problem and went back to the dealer for warranty repair. They contacted BRP because it was unusual and was not on the TSB list, BRP now told the dealer my bike was never affected and they had no idea why the shipping was delayed and there is no "new key", it was just a bad batch. :opps:

For the record: my ignition key was loose in the run position and would not operate the frunk release properly. When my dealer tried to repair it, the whole ignition switch fell apart in his hands.

Just took delivery of a new 2014 RT S SE6 last Friday. Traded in 2 wheels for 3 for a variety of reasons, and benefitted from the abundance of good information on this forum in making my decision...thank you all. My wife and I love the RT and are looking forward to traveling and knocking around on it for some time to come. As it sometimes goes, however, we've had an issue right out of the box. After pulling the RT out of the garage yesterday and removing the key, it would not go back in all the way when I tried to start it again. Tried the spare key with the same result. The key isn' t dropping down all of the way into the tumbler/ignition, and as the result nothing is operational. The dealer is on this issue and taking care of it (replacing parts and keys), but I thought I'd put the information out there for informational purposes since they said they'd seen it before.

I believe the "new tumbler" is for the trailer in case you buy one. That way only one key required for bike and trailer.

Nobody has said what the symptoms are of this "Key problem". I saw where people have complained of stuck keys - mine is not stuck. It just wont' turn. I can put it in and take it out any time I want. Worse yet, I can't even get the bike to the dealer without "assistance". Like - from a tow truck or a crane, since it's got the emergency brake on.
