There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. New Motor

I love the way the new motor shifts and the 6 speeds on the F3
Anyone know if there are plans to put this motor in the original standard Spyder?
apologize if there is a thread already out there

Speculation has run rampant about the subject. So far, those that know are not saying a thing.

I am guessing the original standard :ani29:--which is now a bit dated--is not long for this world. What the new configuration of the "entry level" :spyder2: is going to be, remains to be seen.

I don't think that the 1330 will end up in the RS...
The overall package is just too bulky for it's bodywork, and BRP may just end up re-positioning the bike in it's line-up as an entry level model... (D: :agree:)

Love my Spyder sitting upright. I ride it hard and it keeps performing.
Just want something upright like mine that has more power.
The F3 just seems to casual....IMHO

I saw a Spyder for sale online that had a motor that had 40 hp more...
Whats the story about this and how do I get one?

Additional posts to that thread have filled in a lot of information. It is for real, but limited supply may cause a pocketbook crunch. Supply/Demand Price/Value?

I would love to see it happen, i like the looks of the f3 from far away but i tried one and it was not confy for me due to the crusier position, like the "entry" level style better:thumbup:

As much as I hate to admit it; I'm also not a fan of the F-3's seating position. :opps:
I'm just destined to be an "Olphart" on a touring bike!

Hi Bob,

Better than sitting on the couch just rotting away. YMMV

I have wondered why BRP doesn't boost the power of the 1330 with a turbo or other means. There are a lot of bikes of similar displacement that make a lot more hp. My guess is it could be a liability issue for them. I know it is good enough as it stands but.........:dontknow:

What if they boosted the output, and cut the service life of the engine by 30%? :dontknow:
Remember; GoldWings can run for 300,000 miles before needing to look at what's going on in the engine room...

WONDER NO MORE

It's the numbers.....How many high powered Spyders do you think BRP would have to sell to make it financially feasible ??????.....2000, 3000, that's a very small number......so how much EXTRA would they have to charge .....my guess at those numbers would be 25 % minium........NOT GOING TO HAPPEN....Honda actually built a High powered 2000 cc engine for the Gold Wing and decided they couldn't justify the cost so it's somewhere in a Japanese warehouse !!!!!..................Mike

All of our engines get us around in a more than fast enough manner. It is a smart trade to not go too far in the name of durability. My buddy has a Harley Fatboy that he constantly had in the speed shop to continually squeeze more HP out of it. It is now dead in his garage prematurely while he had to pony up for a new bike.

This logic is regularly supported in various racing series.:doorag:

Now now....don't be so practical....you take all the fun out of it:joke:

 Sorry... :opps:

The Missus said that I have to be practical...;) Being practical is good...;) It saves us money...;) Saving money is good...;)

(Will somebody run over me??? :yikes:)

"There is no substitute for cubic inches." I think the 1330 has plenty of HP and toque to spare as is.

What I'd be curious to find out is, how much performance would be lost if they de-tuned the engine a bit so it would run on regular grade gas. I hate paying extra $$ for premium.

" IT ALREADY DOES ", and does it well as many here have found out and said so until the " NAYSAYER'S " shouted them down......Do your own test......You must put at least 3 full ( or close to ) full tanks of gas thru. Then you decide if the PREMIUM Gas gives you " AN AMAZING BOOST IN POWER " as they all claim..............I and others say HOOEY :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:................This test will in no way hurt your engine......Mike
