• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yes, welcome! The 2 points above cannot be stressed enough. Save yourself much trouble and embarrassment; read the Owners Manual 3 or 4 times and bookmark & study the "Do's and Don'ts" thread the same number of times. Your life with a Spyder will be much more enjoyable .

Love your avatar! I did not have a manual since it is a used bike (2014) I would like to know at what RPM I should be shifting? Rode it first time today on back roads. I was shifting around 3200 rpm. Trying to get the manual and my second key from the previous owner through the dealer that sold it to me.
My first ride today was amazing!

The ST is a two cylinder. Your shift points and engine operation should be around 5500 rpm. The rotax likes HIGH revs. Your redline is around 9,500. Don't use all the gears unless you are riding at 60 mph or higher. I drove 50 miles of Hana Hwy on Maui HI all in first gear. Speed limits 25 or less.

What Docster and AKspyderman both just said.Keep the revs up and you will be fine. The first section of Spyder Do's and don't refers to the 998 V Twin engine. That is your engine. Once the 3 cylinder 1330 (2014) come out the V twin stuff gets thinner.
Revs I shift between 5000 and 6000 and I usually run from 4000 to 5000. I don't get into 4th until around 60 mph and 5th gear at 70. I get around 29-31mph running this way.

They have given you a good reference to the owner's manual. Read it a lot. It will teach how to change your own oil and other things you can do your self. Even if you don't want to do yourself you might want to try it just once. There is also a good section on how to ride your Spyder.

:clap::clap::congrats::welcome::nopic: of the new Spyder. Post early, post often and post pictures. We don't have near enough post/pictures about new riders rides and impressions as their experience changes.
