• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First off, hello! My name is Travis and live in the Buffalo, NY area. Second.. I've been lurking and reading for a couple weeks and just have to say that this seems to be a great community!!

Now onto the good stuff. Purchased a 2012 RTS SE5 on last Sunday. It's still in Minnesota, but shipping arrangements have been made!!! 6K for miles, Elka shocks, front bumper protector, and LED tail light. Also came with factory brp warranty that is good till 4/2017.

I have never owned/driven a motorcycle before, but recently got my permit, and have already registered for a safe riders/licensing course for the first week of April. I see that the Spyder is often the choice of first time riders, great minds think alike I guess!

Totally looking forward to getting the bike delivered, so I can stare at it while the snow melts.

:clap:Welcome I am a former Buffalonian. I can't say I miss Buff, but I get back a few times a year to see in-laws. Next time I'm comin' on the Spyder I will touch base with ya. Maybe some wings at the Anchor Bar, pizza at Bocce, maybe a Teds hot dog. ------Budro

Hi Travis! :welcome:
From Buffalo, you've got some great riding opportunities! :2thumbs:
The Finger Lakes Region is always a scenic destination... I don't think that it's too far from your neck of the woods!
Take your time getting used to the Spyder! Do you have any ATV or snowmobile experience? They most closely approximate how the Spyders feel on the road.
Oh! We'll also need to see some pics of your new pride and joy once it's safely home!

Welcome. I am originally from the Buffalo / Niagara Falls area as well and get up to visit family and friends a couple times a year. Hope the Spyder arrives soon. Go Sabres!

Welcome Travis..!!

:welcome: :congrats: your on your way to some great times. Even the learning process is fun. Good luck and safe ryding..!!

It is great to have another NY ryder in the Family!!!!!! I cannot wait for this spring either. Hopefully we can do an RTE in the Finger lakes area and we can meet up there. I live in Central NY and plan to do several rydes in that direction. I hope the RT-S is everything you are looking for. We have an RS-S and we love it. We are actually thinking about adding an RT to the stable w/in a 12-18 months so that we can get my 4 1/2 year old son ryding. Hope to see you on the road!!!:doorag:

Welcome Travis--I live between Buffalo and Rochester--actually work in the Buffalo area! let me know if you ever want to hook up and ride together. I also own a home in the Finger Lakes area--get place to ride--we should get a group of "western New Yorkers" together for a group ride sometime!

Welcome! I grew up in Utica, its nice to see a fellow upstater on the board. Never being on a motorcycle before is a benefit when getting a Spyder because the ride is not the same.

My husband actually hates my Spyder, he is a triumph rider but I love it. Stealth Billie was my first motorcycle and I can see how moving from two wheels to three could be a problem. If you have any questions or problems, post them here. There is a lot of experieinced riders here and everyone is extremely friendly.
