• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just saying hello. I have been scanning site for a week and it seems great. Traded in 05 yamaha venture which was great but Tough around town (heavy) but will miss anyway. Bought spyder at pioneer motorsports in chaffee/arcade ny. Have dealt with them for a few years and a fantastic dealership. They have been partner vendors on ventureriders.org and co-sponsored spyderfest type meets and provided member discounts. Will try to provide insights on new spyder as I put more miles on it. Hope to meet and ride with some spyder members in buffalo/southtowns area in future, keep the great info coming....spanky (craig)

spankym, congrats on the new RT -L. I got the cognac RT-S a week and a half ago and am pretty darn happy with it.

I had an 05 Midnight Venture bought new and sold it for a 12 Goldwing. Loved the Venture but the top heavy weight was a bear at slow speeds as you know. Thought the Wing with its lower center of gravity would be better but that didn't work out for me. My mistake. Hence the Spyder. The big bike problems are behind me now.

I was a member of Ventureriders for years and did Fort Collins and Pork in the Pines and some other local M and E's. I let my membership go about 2-3 years ago. Was there from 05 and I still read the forum all the time just to see how people are doing. I saw your post there this week about your new Spyder and was curious what the ribbing would be like but all has been quite positive. They are a good group and I would say that this group is very similar in many ways. Freebird is a good leader and runs an excellent site and so seems Lamont.

Enjoy you new Spyder.

so true gary

Freebird is a class act...been to a few maintenance days at his place and he has been up for "bigtoms" meet at pioneer, who provides support and camping area. Even held national meet for a week there. Will continue to ride with those guys and expect a few will in coming years convert as well for the reasons stated...you know as we age we can use the three wheel stability. There is another meet in august, check the calander on venture site if you are in the area and like last year pioneer ( partner in meet ) will provide a spyder or two for those who want to test drive. Freebird did not like it but who knows the future, his wife I believe did like it. Hoping to also hook up with some local spyder riders and maybe get all together for some rides, I know the others would welcome them warmly, as all are great guys and most ride with wives or girlfriends. Hope to eventually meet lamont and others from site......to all
ENJOY AND RIDE SAFE. Spanky
