• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. New mapping for 2013 spyders

ALL of us, (13,00 + strong!), are pulling for a successful conclusion to your problems with this bike!
Please keep us in the loop... ;)

Could someone please tell me what the BRP Service Number is that addresses the Mapping? I have a 2013 RT-S SE5 which has a lot of heat problems so if this will help I would like to check it out.

I'm also waiting for the fuse box to finish my update hope my dealer gets the box this week so that I can test it out....
Make sure the dealer puts the correct cover on the correct fuse box.... the dealer put Flamingobabes' on the wrong sides... could be confusing if you ever have blown fuse issues. They are marked 'left and right' seems like it should be pretty simple.... but they got it wrong. Fixed it....According to our case worker at BRP.."these mechanics are the experts" ... and still their workmanship leaves much to be desired.... It's PAINFUL. double check their work if you can.

confidence is NOT high....

Called the shop today and talked with the foreman... told him about the issue with the fuse covers put in the wrong location. He seemed glad to know the issue and would talk with his folks in the shop....it would make it hard to trouble shoot a problem if the fuses were all marked wrong.

Are you guys confident that all problems have been fixed? Is it running great now?
I still don't have the bike back together after checking what the shop did..and replacing wires and looms for the heated seat and heated jacket that melted when the O2 sensor blew out and shot hot gas on the wires and melted them.....It would be a LARGE leap in faith to think the bike is fixed.... One issue after another... surely we will get them all fixed..... if I can keep working on the bike..( I have found and fixed more issues than BRP has)... Would LOVE to have this bike running and dependable!!!!! time will tell.
Found and fixed this... had it to the shop several times with no resolution http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?62636-ST-shuttering-and-shaking-at-start-fixed! Also found and fixed the surging issue..800 to 2200 rpm at idle... cooked plug wires... changed them out and fixed the problem. brp shop couldn't find the problem What's next?
FB Loves her spyder.. but I am losing confidence that it will be a bike she can count on. Would love to be proved wrong! it will take more than 'ONE' trip without the spyder having to be on a trailer either coming or going to restore my faith in the bike.
If it were my bike it would have been gone LONG ago.....

I really hope we can get it running and keep it on the road... It will probably be worth as much 2 years from now as it is now

I'm hoping the patch to the ECM will help!!!!

Mark,
We know the the bike has put you guys through it ...
Youi've been pretty patient; once what you've experienced has been considered!
You'll track the rest of it down in short order!
Char's bike will be better than new, in no time! :2thumbs:
Wait... "better than new"; isn't really all that high of a goal... :yikes:

HaNG IN THERE!!!

Jury Still Out

That's what I gather on the fixes regarding the 2013 heat problems. I think once we have warmer weather and even hot in the Summer months the verdict will come down on whether or not the fixes really fixed anything or not. The issue has this fence sitter looking past the 2013 model year to the 2014 to 2015 RT as I'm just not sold on anything that needs fixing after the sale in order to be made right.

If man puts his fingers on it

Guys

Wake up and smell the exhaust fumes for Pete's sake. If it turns gas and a man or a woman has even touched it, it is going to break or require an adjustment or a replacement at some time during its lifetime of use or abuse.

You all are starting to sound like a bunch of cry babies! The forum is supposed to be friendly and informative. Yes, I had a big bowl of "grumpy flakes this morning." I'm out'ta here!

Bob,
Everybody can have an "Off-Day"; once in a while...
Sometimes, folks just want to find out if anybody is listening... :D

The weather is looking better for next week and mine is going in to get the latest recall done. I'm very optimistic that at the very least it will help my surging and stumbling only summer weather will tell if the heat issues are fixed. I know some have had it done already and the results look good so far but I don't think we have any feedback on the actual heat issues as of yet.

Looking from the front which is right & left ? I assume it is right and left from the drivers seat right?

Did anyone actually get notified through the mail about this yet? Looks like it just came out. It's dam cold right now and full of snow mine is not coming out right now.

There is the 'right side and the left side of the bike. That would be from the riders position. Maybe they should have called it fore and aft.. with port and starboard to make it clear......most folks know which is the front end of a bike..... except the can am shop....the covers are marked.. it was a silly mistake on their part. And it seems to happens with regularity...got FB's bike put back together today, a week after we got it back from the shop... .replaced wires and looms that were burned and melted from the O2 sensor blowing out. If you can... always check what the dealer has done to your bike.... their interest is NOT the same as yours. It's a shame that this has to be done.

:thumbup:I hear ya. When I had mine done the tech brought it out and he never signed the OM for the 600mi. service so I told him I wanted to get that done and tried to open the frunk...and tried...and tried. He forgot to hook the cable back up :banghead: He took it back inside and fixed it in 5 min but it was a 2hr ride home so if I had not wanted to get my book signed I would have gone home and :yikes:
