• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New maint. schedule

You may want to check with BRP to see if they have the right address for you. They didn't have my correct address but do now.

Got mine last week. Going to call the dealer about extending the next oil change. I heard that another oil filter should have been put on to extend the service interval.I'll keep you posted on the reply

Also received mine in the mail yesterday. Nice to see the longer miles between oil changes and the valve adjustments and new panels.
Bad thing is, I paid for 3 years of maintenance (service contract), that was to save me some money in the long run, but
now it looks like it will be just the opposite due to the changes in the schedule. Hey, just like the stock market, make some money, lose some money.
I know,I know, it was MY decision to purchase the maintenance plan in the first place, but still doesn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling, now.

i did the same thing figuring all the money i will save, but now like you said longer intervals between means less maint time for contract .i'm going back to my dealership and see if they will extend the service contract due to brp extending the service intervals it would only seem fair that they do,i mean they set up the maint program based on brp's reccommendations so when i go in for my next oil change we going to be talking to the general mgr about this.i got about 2k more miles to go for next change.

Well after purchasing a maintenance contract and having only one oil change so far I can't say I am overly happy. I wonder if they will reduce the price on the maintenance package? Being in automotive all my life and owning a lot of twin motorcycles I do not like the idea of going that long between changes. I always changed my twins at 2500 miles with full synthetic.

GM came out with this great idea called oil life monitoring system. You change your oil one time per year or whenever the light comes on. Let me tell you it's causing a lot of sludge build up and major engine failure. It's a great sales pitch but really bad for customer service.

Mine should work out just about right. With 6 oil changes and 6 inspections over 3 years, I've already had 4 oil changes and 3 inspections (which include the oil change) in 18,000 miles and 10 months. I'm sure I'll use the rest before 36 months are up. With "free" labor for tire changes (yea, right) and a realistically flexable dealer, I'm very satisfied with my (fortunate) timing on the agreement. At $109 per hour, about the same as local GW and HD dealer, it sure adds up fast. If I weren't pushing 75, I'd still be doing most myself, but that's a fact I have to face with several back operations and other things I could bore you with, if I haven't already. :yikes:

I'm really, really pleased with the extended time between services! Has BRP been listening to us? Sure seems that way. Anyway, I got the notice in the mail this past week. Good news.

MarkMarks, I think this is the number I called
1-888-864-2002.
Have you bike serial number handed.

The last time I changed the oil, I purchased the kit. It contained the oil, metal mesh wrapped filters (2), O rings, crush washers and the new longer oil SE5 oil filter cap.

Oil change required to get the panel

I got mine yesterday. I do have a question regarding the new oil filter access body panel. I do my own maintenance (oil changes, plugs, etc.). Do I have to have my dealer perform maintenance (oil change) to receive the new body panel or should I be able to just pick one up? If I have to spend money to have them change my oil the "free" body panel may not be worth it.

I know many others do their own maintenance. What do you think?:dontknow:

I checked with my dealer a couple of days ago. The letter I got said to "present the voucher at your next maintenance". I took the spyder in for the brake pin recall, and asked if they could give me the panel. Answer is NO. Their directive from BRP specifies that they do the oil change. They would be willing to sell me the panel for about $34.00, but they were already out of them and on back order. That's still way cheaper than paying for them to do the service!!! It would be nice if anyone has seen this panel, to maybe post a pic of it?
