• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Machine for my Shop

If a person would want to add a Power Commander Controller to their Spyder-

This requires adding the proper size threaded bung hole for the 02 sensor.
I was just thinking, fabricating a new header piece might speed the process up.
This would not require pulling the original header prior to doing an install of the PC.
Just free thinking a little today,

Bill

but than again, maybe this is a lame idea.....

I understand now.

:congrats: But for those of us who are mechanically challenged, what is it and what will it do? :dontknow:

It's a hydraulic powered bender, former, expander. It can bend round and square tubing and flat stock. It can form euro joints, header flanges, bell ends etc on exhaust pipe as well as expand and contract exhaust pipe.

Looks like an opportunity to make more goodies!

Question about your fenders. Are you rolling your own material? I like yours but would like it about 3" longer and without the pieces to attach it to the hitch mount installed. I have an aftermarket hitch and would like to be able to play with the installation location.

CJ JAX

I have them rolled for me and I attach the mounts, so I could sell you a blank fender if you like.
I put holes in the bottom of the fender to attach an additional mud flap if you want the fender to go all the way down to the ground.

It's a tubing bender, but I'm not sure what the part in front with the blade does

On the right side of the photo the bender is on top, the disk below is the angle readout. The expander is on the left and the former is on the far side and not seen in the photo.

Is that machine a mandrel bender that maintains a constant ID of the original tube?

PK

I wish it was, but those machines are huge and cost more than a pile of Spyders. When I use the smooth dies the ID has a slight depression but not enough to affect performance. Without the back pressure from a stock muffler the exhaust has too much flow and needs mixture adjustment trickery to even run.

My son has one very similar made by Baliegh, had it for a couple of years. Uses it for exhaust pipe, custom fabrications on jeeps, trucks, race cars, it can be pretty handy. One trick to help you with, if you having problems with kinking especially with larger diameter tube, use a heavier gauge.

That's what I was told by the previous owner to bend 3" stainless tube a minimum of 14 gauge is needed.

Thanks

Had a good day today and learned quite a few things. A wire pattern is easy to use and makes precise bends... if you bend the wire right the first time LOL.

product idea

that pipe bender looks sweet. do you think you could make a dual exhaust set up for the gs rs? as in left side, right side, to use slip on cans. attadude, and mr. orange had duals like this.

Probley could if I had a GS/RS near by to fit it up...
