• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New line up announcement Date from BRP

They put 3 videos up on Facebook. :(

I don't do Facebook. I sent them an email to that effect. Not everyone is addicted to the internet.

If they were able to send me a head's up email (which they did), they could also send out an email announcement in parallel.

But it seems I didn't miss anything.

Hate Facebook !

Here's what's new from what I see looking at the BRP web page.

The RTS is no more.

The new cluster w/ BT, new radio and integrated GPS.

Lamont's FB posting shows a new joystick control instead of the 4 way button on the left handlebar control.

Base RT is white only with black trim. RTL comes in white, metallic grey, oxford blue, and champagne, each in either chrome or black trim.

Accessories catalog hasn't been updated yet so can't tell if things like CB are still available.

the new cluster is not enough to get me to buy another, but had I known I might have waited to buy the 18.

We were going to order an RT-S on Saturday.....think we will have to wait now and order a 2018! Seems silly with the big improvements to the audio, etc, not to wait!
Unless they give us a stupid deal on a 2017 that is.....

I like the new dashboard and the color tweeks. It appears no new models or radical styling changes. Not enough for :spyder2: number six for me.

Looks like BRP are going to intoduce an entry level Spyder at a cost of around $10,000

This was being announced on the Spyder experience Timeline about 4hrs ago

It appears that model introduction on the "entry level" one is for Sept. 2018. Am guessing that will be a 2019 model.

Hmmm

I think BRP is making nice videos, they did really improve over past few years on this.

But new LCD and joystick.. is that it??? I was not really expecting Turbo, coz the majority of Can-Am rYders are just chillin riders - no offence, and just few maniacs like myself - will not make sense to that investment. But i really believed that there will be new RT model, that will go more in style of F3 and they will make those tail lights more up to date...
at least the videos are nice...

Well as a newer Spyder owner, and somewhat new to this Forum.....I'm seeing a LOT more than "just a new gauge"

Integrated Bluetooth receive/transmit, integrated GPS and other connectivity functions, upgraded sound system...etc...etc. These are a lot of the very things people on this Forum have been asking for. I personally think it's pretty cool.

I'm really liking the new display!
I'm guessing about the six-speaker setup, but I think that they put the F3-L's speakers into the RT.

$?

In this link http://www.lamonstergarage.com/news/...nd-highlights/ it says that you will need to take your Spyder into the dealer and have the them "flash the cluster" for new app's and features. Will this also be required for the map updates for the GPS? If so how much is the dealer going to sock you for the "flash"? I get free updates for life on my Garmin every time I plug it into my computer!;)

Nobody knows at this point in time... :dontknow:
But the flexibility of this new system will make it well worth it!
