There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. CONCORD, N.H. -- The state wants to muffle loud motorcycles, but riders said the bill will cause them hardship.

State Rep. Judith Day of North Hampton said she sponsored the bill after 1,000 voters in her town signed a petition asking for further limits on motorcycle noise.

Current law said motorcycles can produce up to 106 decibels, but the new law would limit the noise coming from the tailpipes to 99 decibels. The fines would also increase from a maximum of $300 to $1,000.

About 120 people showed up to the bill's public hearing on Wednesday, most of them against the change.

Opponents said the new limits would cost bikers and dealers money to change their motorcycle tailpipes and could hurt Laconia's annual motorcycle week, a major economic event for the Lakes Region.

If bikers would use a bit of common sense (getting to be a rare commodity in any venue) we would not be seeing these restrictive bills popping up.

Some riders want as much noise as they can get (which I do not have a problem with) and they think they need to share their ear pounding creation with everyone at all times (which is where we part ways).

I've had (and now have) louder pipes on both my rides but use just a little discression when I know there are situations where the additional Db's will not be appreciated.

It isn't a matter of being worried someone will report me or getting a citation. It's more out of respect for other people. There are plenty of opportunites to open the throttle where it won't make any difference.

Not sure about you but on a nice summer day, sitting at a stop light, I don't really appreciate the guy pulling up next to me, windows down with his uber-mega-watt sound system cranked up to where my fillings rattle.

Same thing.

if you think that's bad, check this out;

its only a proposal right now, but I can give you personal experience that its no longer a playground in there. This past winter was the first time that I have ever been pulled over, during the winter. So far they have stopped me three times since December.

In the summer I feel like a Gazelle trying to avoid Lions. I even had to give up my Evoluzione plate bracket because they did not appreciate the angle of it.

... but getting pulled over in the winter used to be unheard of.
So after my last encounter, I decided to go back to stock.

Here is MD I believe they're reviewing the same thing...as well as emissions tests for motorcycles...

I have a hindle and I think that it's within the safe range on sound...as far as emissions go, I don't know...

I kept the stock and can switch, if need be...compared to Harleys I know, the Hindle certainly sounds tame...

that woman State Rep. Judith Day of North Hampton is a stuck up :cus::cus::cus: and i mean that in the nicest way she is a conceited snob who wants north hampton to be like her little quiet paradise....who would prefer if bikers didnt drive threw "HER TOWN" :cus::cus::cus:
ok i feel better now:coffee:

Daytona has had a noise law for quite sometime now and the only people you see getting ticketed during the bikeweek and biketoberfest events are the folks going up and down mainstreet rapping on the throttle trying to draw attention to themselves. And that's pretty amusing because mainstreet gets so busy that the cops will just walk up to them while they're sitting in traffic and write them their ticket for being stuipid. Everyone else who is being respectful just rides on by.

I can agree with this approach.

I can agree with this approach.

There are other towns in Florida that take a harder approach. I have a friend who picked up a loud pipes ticket awhile back.

Funny thing is one of the towns in my county just came up with a new noise ordinance, but it has nothing to do with loud pipes. They're targeting cars with loud stereos.
