new key switch ordered

just got back from my dealer and after checking my Vin # they ordered all the parts needed to do the replacement, would you believe BRP allows them only 1.5 hrs to do the job.

now for the sling shot, my dealer has 15 pre ordered so far and he went to the show and said it is a blast to drive.

Foxwoods is a great location..went many time when my daughter was in cheerleading.
Glad they are getting you the replacement switch but how long will yours last..?? Till the new parts arrive I hope...ray:

Same issue for my ST. Needed a new ignition switch. Dealer fitted it, but, as you say, they were only allowed 1.5 hours and it took much, much longer. They weren't happy!

Now, a slight worry. I have used an IPS since I got the machine. It is very heavy. Does this contribute to the problem? I've stopped using it just in case.

:dontknow: It seems as if it's sitting in such a way, that it's mass isn't going to try and tear apart the switch...
I haven't heard of anybody finding a direct link to it's use causing the demise of the lockwork...

I may need a new one anyway. Besides the DESS errors I've been having, my trunk lock stop working up on the Gaspe. Fortunately it was unlocked when it did, but now if you insert the key, the lock won't turn.
