• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. J&M Bluetooth Cell-Phone/GPS/Radar Integration for Can-Am Spyder RT - $599
http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=CFBR-CART

This custom made 'J&M Bluetooth integration terminal will integrate a Cell-Phone, Smart-Phone, Bluetooth enabled GPS unit and/or specific Radar-Detectors with the driver's (only) 'J&M or Can-Am Spyder brand corded helmet headset.

While using the normal audio system functions on the Spyder of music, intercom and/or CB radio, if the cell phone receives an incoming call and the call is accepted by depressing the handlebar mounted multifunction button, (or onscreen thru a Garmin Zumo) complete connection of the driver's headset to the cell phone is automatically initiated for totally hands-free operation.

Voice-command-dialing can be activated by depressing the handlebar mounted multifunction button, which will also initiate complete connection of the driver's headset to the cell phone, for totally hands-free operation.

If the Bluetooth enabled and linked GPS unit emits any navigation commands, or the radar detector emits any beeps or braps, regardless of what else might be being heard in the headset, they will momentarily be heard in the driver’s corded helmet headset.

Once linked the first time, the Bluetooth enabled cell-phone will automatically connect/disconnect from the system, when the GL-1800 ignition is turned on or off.

Additional linking/use scenarios are outlined in the installation/operation manual .pdf download listed below.

This is a totally plug-n-play Bluetooth cell-phone integration solution for all years of the Can-Am Spyder RT.

Kit includes the plug-in integration module, handlebar-mounted control switch assembly and complete installation/operation manual.

Note: Specific radar-detector adapter harnesses are available at extra cost ($50.00).

You may have hit the jackpot.
This could complete all the functions missing from the OEM setup.
Are you getting one ?

Ha! I only found it 5 mins ago. However, I will check them out at the Int'l MC Show in Long Beach on Saturday.

If I'm reading it right, this will allow you to answer the cell phone without using the GPS.

Also, if I'm reading the installation instructions correctly, they have the right/left side reversed. They may also have the CB/Intercom reversed as well.

You said you replaced your GPS harness. When you were having problems with the cell phone, were you also having problems with hearing the navigation instructions ?

I think the instructions are correct. I took some panel and saw the plugs.

GPS worked great but the mic plug of the GPS harness was bad.

Update??

Hey Steve,

Did you ever pull the trigger on this setup? While looking at new helmets on J&M's website, I saw this bluetooth setup and wondered if anyone had installed it, and if it works well. Would appreciate anyone's input if they have it installed.

No, never did. Everything works good so I didn't see the need. I think it would great for someone who didn't have the GPS kit.

And that's exactly why I am interested in it - I don't have the GPS kit installed. Although, I'm wondering if it would be cheaper - or even, possible - for me to install the GPS harness and connect to my Garmin Nuvi 765, which is bluetooth enabled.

Yes, J&M. but they don't offer a CB setup compatible with the Spyder. no mounting brackets or anything.

Ah, gotcha. The closest thing they have is the wireless helmet Bluetooth set. The Can Am setup must be proprietary. Sure would be nice to have another alternative to the astronomical price that Can Am charges.

J&M Bluetooth Cell-Phone/GPS/Radar Integration for Can-Am Spyder RT. Does it work?

Hi,

Has anyone actually purchased and installed one of these?

I do have the Factory Garmin Zumo 650 on my 2010 RT-S but the cell phone integration is horrible. The ZUMO BTooth does not lock the radio out so if I take a breath, the radio kicks back in until I or the person on the other end of the cell phone starts talking. I assume that this is the way it works.

I also have a hand held Ham Radio I want to use while riding and this J&M product looks like it would fit the bill but before I blow $600. I was hoping someone else had actually bought one and had a good review.

Thanks,

Marc

Now we wait.
