• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

new hybrid Motorcycle FURION

Can't answer the "Great Idea" question. But I do believe that this is a glimpse of what the future holds.

I think that I prefer the all-electric bike that is being built by Zero.
Almost a 190 mile range for city riding, and it can still give you better than a 100 mile range at highway speeds.

With the limited space on a motorcycle: why try to carry two differing powerplants, and their fuels? I think that keeping it a bit simpler; is better...

But it sure is an interesting take on the idea, and it's very pretty!

Thanks for posting about it!

never expected to see something like this out of France.
It's not known for hi-tech bikes.
It looks good, that's for sure and the attention to detail is great.
I think hybrid bikes would have been tried by now and maybe we'll see more.
The use of a rotary engine is curious to me. When it was done by Suzuki, Norton, and Hercules they weren't accepted in the marketplace.
And other smaller manufacturing attempts failed also. And Yamaha thought enough of them to build prototypes and not even try to bring them to market.
Rotaries are light for the power they produce. Remember Mazda winning the IMSA racing titles after trouncing the larger engine Porsches in the same class?
Also rotaries are not known to be frugal with gas. Maybe combining with a more fuel efficient system is the way to go, out of necessity?

It is good to see new ideas. Sometimes they spark other new thinking.

I'd be a bit leery for several reasons.
Probably the biggest one is the ROTARY engine.

It took Mazda a LONG time to get that design working good.......and some would say that it still doesn't.

We had a couple of snowmobiles that used Sachs-Wankel engines.
303cc and 24 hp.
One was a 1974 Arctic Cat Lynx, and the other was a 1973 Skiroule RT-W
They ran pretty darn well
