• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New here, new Spyder RT Limited

Didn't see a new members intro forum, (point me to one if I am just missing it) and just got to be able to register here after lurking for a month. We got an RT Limited about a month ago. Already have a bunch of mods because, well "Thy ride shall not mimic another's". Even have a name for it. Gloria didn't like "Boris" (Who fans will most likely get that reference.) but she did wholly endorse "Itsy Bitsy". All is in my profile, this is just a note to say "Hi, glad to be here."

Congrats!

I hope you and your bride have many miles of smiles on it.

Boris Badinenif would have been a great name!

Welcome, welcome 👍

Welcome to the spyder world and this awesome site. Congrats on the new Ryde :clap:Glad to have you jump in ... enjoy the miles of smiles and being a rock star..

Hey! I know where St. Bonifacius is, even been to Grumpys a time or two. Family lived in Warroad when I was very young, and I grew up in Farmington, south of the Cities.
Boris Badinov would have been a great name, but I was thinking of the Who song "Boris The Spider". Gloria didn't approve, claiming it was some of my "weird music", and being written by the Who bassist John Entwhistle she was correct. But she did like Itsy Bitsy from the old children's song "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". I have also heard the same song as "The Teencey Weencey (or Teeney Weeney) Spider". Must be regional variations, I know about them being an expatriate Minnesotan, just as I know the correct version of the game is "Duck, Duck, Gray Duck."

what year limited did you end up with ? I probably missed it ! hope you get a few days of riding in with the on set of cool ( o.k. dang cold weather )

Welcome to the most fun on 3 wheels.

No new members forum, you just start out swimming in the deep end!

I too thought of Boris and Natasha!

Thanks for the welcome folks! Looking back I neglected to add the year - it is a 2018, they had a great sale at Bikes, Blues and BBQ in Fayetteville AR this year. We got more off on the price because it was a "training bike" - It had 91 miles on it when we got it, and was considered 3 months old.

Boris the Spyder was my 1st name choice, but as I mentioned Gloria didn't like that name or the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzIvGfuea0g
She thought that Itsy Bitsy was cute, and even started doing the hand motions for the song.

For some reason I couldn't get on to the forum, but i did a few weeks of lurking. I just got a message that said registration was disabled by the administrator. We went to Lamonster Garage to pick up a few things after we took delivery of Itsy Bitsy and found Lamont was ailing (prayers and best wishes to him for a good recovery) and thus the forum was limited for a while. Glad to be able to be part of it now. While lurking I learned a lot, I did read and re-read the Do's and Don'ts for new spyder owners.

Glad to be part of this board, and hope I can be a useful contributor from time to time.

Welcome from Georgia

I picked up Earl (named by the state of GA. Licence plate ERL something) December 1st 2017.
