• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Guy Question on Garmin GPS and the Spyder Infotainment System

Sorry for the New Guy (tm) questions again but...

If I'm going to use my Garmin 665 with XM Radio for navigation and headset audio, is there any reason to pair anything to the Spyder? I have an Android phone so there is not concern about Apple CarPlay. A cursory read of the owners manual does not seem to indicate any other reason to pair a phone or headset to the bike. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

jdg

No reason to do it other than convenience. I pair my android and headsets to the bike so I can select media and control the phone music with the handy bike controls also volume/mute. I don't care for turn by turn so I have not paired my Zumo XT2. Lots of choices for you.
