I had to break the ice and say thanks to all of the fine people here on this board.
My wife Alice and I left home near Des Moines on our new 2012 RT SE5 five days ago. I researched on the net and discovered that South Dakota had some of the finest bike roads in the world. My excitement grew and due to the shared experiences of all of the great contributers here, I felt confident that we could really do this.
Thanks to you all, I learned that BajaRon sway bar is what Spyders crave. I bought it and had it installed by my dealer where I bought my RT. It really delivered as promised. I also bought the 622 trailer to go with my new toy, due to the high approval from this board. I couldn't be happier. I equipped my Spyder with passenger arm rests, highway pegs and a rider back rest due to the recommendations of this board's members. I learned what to take with me on an extended trip, as well as what to leave home. I learned to overcome the dreaded death grip as well.
Thanks to you all, my wife and I are having more fun than we could have possibly imagined at this point in our lives! Luckily we haven't had any problems so far with our Spyder. Just went over 2000 miles and have become one with this machine. Such a joy to ride. I feel confident that I can deal with any problem we might encounter during our journey.
Thanks for everything guys and gals! Here are some photos from our trip so far.
