• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New from the UK!!!

Congratulations on your 'New' Spyder!

The previous owner did not give the machine a chance. He was probably an experienced 2 wheel rider and had the same problem I did. I hated the Spyder when I first began to ride it. Without the incentive of my buddy I probably would have parked it.

But after about 300/400 miles the Spyder began to win me over. And now it is difficult for me to break the habit.

Hang in there and you'll be very happy with your purchase, I am sure.

Good Grief!! So many replies and much encouragement!

WOW!! What a reception! I have a lot to learn about riding The Beast!
Yes! I fully realize that almost none of the physics which apply to two wheel riding can apply to Spyder ryding!
Different loads and different forces entirely in play here.
I can see this in the many videos on YouTube and elsewhere. As I have a standard 2010 machine it's very tempting
upgrade the whole front suspension with new shocks and Mr. BajaRon's very fine sway bar!
I hope my English doesn't confuse anyone here.
George Bernard Shaw said that England and America are two countries separated by a common language.....
He wasn't wrong! (But he was Irish!! LoLz!)
I shall try to use US English as much as I am able. I've done seven Daytona Bike Weeks (each one lasted three weeks!!)
and have several good friends all around the US so I should be reasonably OK!
But please be patient with me. Pictures of my Spyder and the surrounding countryside are work in progress!
Shiny side up!

Hello OJ
Welcome to the Spyder Community! I've had my :spyder2: Since August 2012. Since it is my first ever bike there were no bad habits to break. What an awesome bike! The temp here in Baltimore was in the 50's today so off came the cover and me and the limited were off for a ride. You've been given a lot of great advice from a lot of knowledgable folks. Nothing new I can add except enjoy the ride.

PS I have family (inlaws) in Raleigh (Leigh on Sea). I've just looked up Aylesford and it seems you're halfway between Dover and Canterbury.

Hi Dan! Halfway between Dover and Canterbury is AylesHAM and I'm in AylesFORD which is more like halfway between Dover and London.
Oh and your in-laws are in Rayleigh near Leigh-on-Sea which is fairly close to here! All these English place names can get real confusing
especially the pronunciations!! To give you an example, near me is a small town called Wrotham.........pronounced ROOT-HAM and near there
is a village called Trottiscliffe which the locals insist is pronounced TROSLEY!!!
This confusion has been a part of English life for a thousand years! The Romans invaded in 55BC and changed all of the Celtic names to Latin ones
then they left and the Vikings took over the place! After them it was the Saxons then the Normans.....it goes on and on!!!:D
Don't even get me started with the Welsh!! The picture below is of Aylesford , my village. (Actually since I've only lived here for 37 years I'm not really a local yet!!)
