• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New forum for the the Gals

Lamonster

SpyderLovers Founder
I got an email about a week or so ago about starting a Ladies group on SpyderLovers and I was hoping to use a feature in this new board for blogs and such where you could create your own groups like that. Turns out those features are still real buggy and to be honest I've had my hands full with just getting this board back in shape.

I see that there is a new Facebook page for the gals now (Girls on Spyders) and it reminded me that I left this one hanging :opps: . I know that not all of you are on Facebook so here's a new board for the Lady SpyderLovers. :doorag:

As far as I can tell you're in your prime of life, age has nothing to do with it.

Thanks, Lamont! It's good to have another outlet for us women to connect over the things we love! Like our Spyders!

My one and only post here

Sorry, but this just reminded me of the phone company commercial...

HELLO, MY NAME IS PEGGY......How will you know?

On BeginnerBikers.org we also have a Ladies forum. But, it is password protected and strictly just for the gals. We often talk about things NOT motorcycle on it. It has become a very cosy social group. We support each other in our entire lives, not just on two or three wheels.

I'm not saying that this Ladies forum needs to be like that. I'm just throwing out a possibility. Yes, I do think women experience the Spyder a bit differently then guys. The Spyder is the thing I do to keep me connected to a once more active life that I led. I can no longer ride horse and jump cross country fences. But, I can ryde the Spyder. It's often very similar. The truth is that it's a b----h to get old!!!!!

Do the 'gals' have such a unique riding experience they need a separate forum?

Honestly, I kind of feel the same way and am pretty sure I wouldn't like it if Men were to have their own forum. However, I will add there are some things women have to think of (or want to know about) before heading out on a ryde in which many may feel uncomfortable talking about in a general forum. I find most women's forums to be a bit slow - by that I mean, there aren't quick responses like one would get in the general areas, but it's nice to know there is a place to go where I know my chances of being understood are greater. ;)

:dontknow: But Remember what happen to Saturn when they marketed their cars primarily to girls.
They put themselves into a niche where no guy would own one.

I'm just thinking it will be a lot like Cosmo.....
I think more GUYS read Cosmo trying to figure out what women want than actual women read Cosmo.

Of course, it could be just me............................

I think it is a good idea. One of the neatest thing about the Spyder is the inordinate number of sales that have been to women. I think that took everyone quite by surprise...at least in the large percentage. I applaud it. Motorcycles have been primarily a man's world for far too long.
