• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. New Family Addition

I wanted to introduce everyone to my new family addition. I have a soft spot in my heart (I hope this don't ruin my reputation) for furry critters.

I already have two rescue cats--but found this one on the pet shelter webpage. I scan once in a while for the heck of it.

One look at that picture and I knew she was worth checking out.

She is a "special needs" cat. She suffered from frostbite and lost all but 3 inches of both hind legs, her tail, and got her ears bobbed. She has a very gentle and loving personality--so I felt I had to give her a try, and possibly save her from a bad fate. She instantly adopted me when I went to visit her--so it looks like it was meant to be. We have named her Princess.

She gets around okay--but cannot jump up more than a couple feet high. My other two buddies seem to be accepting her all right during the introduction.

Just wanted to share this happy moment with all of you.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful!!!! Is he/she a main coon? BIG feet I think there. and who was the A$$ hole who cut the tips of the ears off!!!That one should be shot!!! Whats his/her name? Ihave a pretty like yours too but the ears are right and nicely pointed. Thanks for shareing.

She is a longhair Siamese mix. She has all the other features of a Maine Coon--like my other two buddies. The big feet, the mane, etc. I have named her Princess.

The ear bob was also due to the frostbite injury she encountered.

The shelter did not know her past history--but it's obvious she was rescued during the winter here.

Whoa horsey I didn't see the rest of that !!!! my bad!!! Precious is a great name for her. She LOOKS precious!!! So sorry to hear she went thru so much to get a wonderful home with you. All my "critters" are either shelter or found out on the road by somebody who couldn't keep em. And my long haired (momma meow) kept putting her babies under my car. Sooo she is still here and 2 sets of kittens later she still rules the barn( fixed tho). Someplace in my "stuff" I have a pic of her. Just not handy I guess. Enjoy your "new" friend.

Good for you for giving her a chance. Animals are resiliant. I hope she does very well with you. She looks like a real sweetheart!

Thanks for sharing Precious with us. She's a beauty. We have two Shelties that came from a rescue shelter and I love to hear about furry critters that find a forever home that way. :2thumbs:

:2thumbs: What a beautiful cat.............I :clap:you for taking her in. We have soft spots for cats..........currently have only one who is a 15 yr. old, 15 lb. Blue Persian who rules the roost! We know what "long" hair is like to groom!

Way to Go

That is awesome that you rescued that beautiful kitty. My family has 4 cats and 3 of them are rescues that adopted us. The fact that your special needs cat adopted you shows the love you give to your family members. Congratulations on your new baby.

:congrats:Wonderful news that you saved "Precious"

Teddy has his own rescue cat at home as well:thumbup: Tho she's now bigger than he is & has her way with him whenever she feels like it :roflblack: Animals add so much to our lives:yes:

Thank you for sharing your heart & home with her & with all of us:2thumbs:
