New Exhaust for Spysder RT-S

Hello All,
I've been fiddling around for the last couple month to come up with a new exhaust for my RT-S. I think i finally got what i've been wanting and looking for. This one sounds great to me, even better as the Two Brother one i had on before. Not to loud but still a good sound and less restricted flow.
I have been trying out and putting it t the test over the last weeks.
So far i did not see any issues with it. I did not had to re map the ECU or any back firering issue's. The matter of fact is - since i use pure gas and put the exhaust on my mpg went up. I have couple times now got over
185 miles to the tank with still 1 gal in the tank.
Never had that before with my RT.
The exhaust i have on now (see video) can also be fitted on the RS model.
I also comes in a less noisier version (sounding more like the Two Brother)
I'm very pleased. It's about half the price of the Two Brothers or Hindle.
Let me know what you guy's think.

LOVE the sound of that. Has authority to it  So you are building/selling them or you found a new supplier?

I think it sounds very good, throaty.
Are you selling them. have a 2010 rt

Thanks for the nice response and yes, I build that one myself.
I thought - i just post that here at the forum, bc people always looking.
So, if they are any requests for that piece of hardware just PM me
and we'll work out the details :2thumbs:

That sound... :2thumbs:
So now that you've got our attention; what'll it take to get you to start building them for the rest of us??

That sounds great to me, could we see a side view. I wonder how restrictive the cat is and what it would sound like without it.

Ho-hum

Okay ... nice custom home-made rig.

I want someone to design a better exhaust for the RT line that RETAINS the form factor of the original exhaust, or at least replaces it with something of equal profile. I see alternative exhausts on the RTs ... Micron, Two brothers, etc .... and now they have these tiny little cannisters underneath; the Spyder looks like it's 'missing' something and it's otherwise noisy.

Maybe I'm a minority. The reason I purchased an RT-S was because I wanted touring/sport touring luxury. I wanted to be able to hear my sound system and GPS, which I can now just fine. It would be nice to have an exhaust that provides more authority at idle and low speed while quietening down once on the roll through 4th and 5th gears (except when goosing, of course). I do long tours in the Summer and to be driving hundreds of miles with that 'drone' of a louder exhaust ever-present is just tiring to me.

Just my 2 cents.

New Exhaust Road Test

Here is a video i took yesterday on the road.
Sorry about the wind noise and my chepper chapper in between.
I had the microphone attached to my shirt to show how the exhaust sounds and still be able to hear the music :coffee:

Nice looking exhaust and it sounds great!
Glad to know you can still hear the radio while cruising....unlike a typical Harley exhaust system.

Have you considered re-directing the exhaust to the side or bottom for those that pull the 622 trailer?
Not sure if the fumes and the added heat would diminish the trailers finish over time. :dontknow:

You or i can put a different tip on it, like a 45 or even 90 degree and direct it down or side ways. Your preference, i can do it !!

Just to update you guy's,
I put over 1000 miles on the RT since i put on the new exhaust.
Still no problems, even my friends with Harley's say - they can hear me now!!! :2thumbs:
Gas mileage is still in the 35 mile/gal range, loving it.

Ride safe!

I am interested in buying

I have a 2010 stock RTS and definitely want to change the exhaust. How much are you asking and what are the installation issues? :2thumbs:

I agree. Sounds nice and looks good. 35 mpg?? I can live with that too. I think a downward angle to the tip would be my preference. Nice job Schultz:thumbup:

Thanks Bruiser, The Tip i have on was my preference, it can be easly exchanged to a downward angled tip in a matter of seconds. Exspecially for pulling a trailer. The 35 mpg is a combination of "pure" gasoline and exhaust. I'm happy  :2thumbs::yes:

First of all sounds great. Loved the video. One of my question is where did you mount the camera, out of all the videos we seen this is the best position to mount the camera. You get to see what is in front of you and there is no vibration in the picture. Second question you said you are getting a 35mpg avg. what were you getting before you changed the exhaust. How difficult to amount the exhaust.? Have you got any pics of the diffferent tips? Thanks JC
