• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New clutch installation.

The new clutch for my 09 se5 came in Sat., so installed it yesterday. Soaked the new plates in engine oil over night, took my time and performed everything by the book. took it out for a test run, shifts very crisply, ran it for several miles at varying speeds, and gave it the acid test. Was running about 70-75 and rolled on the throttle hard and it did the same thing it had been doing. The rpms immediately jump and then the speed catches up with the rpms. This is the new style clutch. Using amsoil motorcycle oil from Ron. Is there a longer protracted run-in period for new clutches. If I don't get on it really hard, it doesn't react that way.
Had it up over 90 on the freeway and it runs great, just seems to be when I roll on the throttle hard. Only mods are the Hindle and cruise control.

It would probably be best to see a dealer, while the clutch is brand new. There is virtually no run-in period with a fresh wet clutch. If you got the intial setup clearance right, the problem probably lies somewhere else. If you failed to set up the clutch pack correctly, the new one could be slipping. Was there sign of damage in the old unit, and did it measure within spec? If it was withing spec and looked normal, your problem probably lies elsewhere, too.

CLUTCH

Take your clutch lever off and look at the little switch mine had a metal paddle in front of the switch button. It had broke off and wedge beside the switch it would cause it to slip.I change my clutch too same thing.Found the paddle broke bought new switch no more problems. This might be your problem.:dontknow:

SE5 does not have a clutch lever.
