• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Can Am RT Limited

Thanks guys for the info and the tips, very helpful. My wife has never ridden a sled or the ATV due to no power steering, so all tips will come in handy. The weather was in the high 50's today, so the snow is going quick, and we will soon be able to give it a try. Very anxious!!

Glad to hear that you are doing the rental thing to help you in your purchasing decision of a Can Am Spyder RT. Given your location, a leisurely ride up 323 to Mont Tremblant will give you all kinds of opportunities to test out the ride and handling characteristics of the Spyder.

Once you have a few miles under your belt and learn to guide the machine with a light touch you will be able to truly enjoy the comfort afforded by this trike. Coming from a background of Sleds and ATV's I guarantee that you will be further ahead than most people who jump on the Spyder for the first time.

The Spyder RT likes to run at high revs for optimum performance. Try to keep it in the 4-5K range and you will find the power to be more than adequate during your day trip through the Laurentians. I would also recommend that you seriously consider renting the SE5 unit. The semi automatic transmission is the singular best decision I made when purchasing the Spyder.

Relax, enjoy your ride and be safe.

Hi everyone! I am thinking of purchasing a new RT limited, actually more then thinking,as we will rent one for a day and the dealer has put one aside for us if we like it. The only thing concerns me is security. I know I have read about alarms on this forum before, but was wondering if there is any updates on people who have one installed? Also will the dealer install one that I find online or will they only install certain models? It is my first post, but I have read alot and it has helped me to come closer to making an informed decision on this purchase. My wife and I are getting very excited to become a member of the spyder family. Thanks for all the great info!

Bring your check book... As far as alarms, most people here have a hard time figuring out what it is, never thought about stealing one and wouldn't know what to do with it if they stole it.:roflblack:

On a serious note I am sure that their are after market alarms available that would work. They are installed on cars all the time.

My personal one is made by Sig Sauer...

Northstar, thanks you seem to know our area. I am just 15 minutes from Saint Sauveur so will probably take the 117 up to Tremblant, but the 323 would be a nice drive also. It will Defenitely be an SE5 as my wife will try it also, and I think I will like that better too! Thanks for the great advice!
