There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. New BRP Adj. Wind Deflectors

So more hot air came from the vents when less air was directed over them, but a complete block of oncoming air wasn't as effective.
If I have that right, that's interesting.
Thanks!
That is the feel I got from placing my bare hand w/o glove right behind the vent in each of the 3 postions, going about 55mph in 75 degree temp.

Glad to finall know the BRP part number for this. Would also be interested in the 2013 RT windshield that has a vent. Does anyone have that part number?

To me The wind deflectors are "ON" in the winter and "OFF" come the warmer weather when covering that air vent is detrimental to engine cooling? If their OFF you will get plenty of air flow without paying $$$ to do so- Thats just me?:yikes:

Sarge, you may be right. I put a set on the other day and in a brief ride in 60F I couldn't feel a lot of difference in air flow on my legs/upper body whether the deflectors were half open or full open. It almost felt that half open provided more air. However, it was a very brief test and I'm hoping the $$$ spent will pay off. Like you, I used to take em off in summer and that seemed to work fine. I never saw any change in water temp, one way or the other.

I'd still like to have a switch to be able to manually control the radiator fan. I know its not supposed to matter if the temp goes up and down, but darn it, if the temp stays way down until you stop for a light, I'd like to be able to switch the fan on at that point. I'm just not smart enuf to wire one in myself and too tight to pay a mechanic to do it! Prob should have used the $$$ spent for the deflector.

There's just two things that I'm really good at :
Spending other poeple's money
and...
wasting their time!

The adjustable deflectors don't block any more air flow to the legs that the original ones, so the Baker air wings are better for that, especially since I ride in cold weather. Haven't had a chance to use the new deflectors on a hot day yet.

Question: How tightly do they hold their positioning?
theysure like they're moving to the top of my long list of "gotta haves!" :2thumbs:

I put some on mine, good solid click when going into position. no way thay are going to move on their own. You can reach down and adjust them "on the fly" (i suggest one side at a time though :lecturef_smilie: for safety's sake). I would put each side in different positions to compare the air flow. They work well, A good functional accessary for the money.

I've got them and have only ridden a couple hours since in moderately cool wx; however, am not convinced they offer significant air control one way or the other. Maybe it'll be more obvious come hot wx, but for now, I'm thinking the $$$ could have been better spent. I'd suggest holding off till more reports come in after it gets hot.

Bakers are the best for all air moving all around you and passerg to. Brp only work for side not all over and baker will cut all wind off of you. Ck them out much better and fit great have the on my old red Spyder that I sold to Gary in Nv. But baker to me the best all around.

I got to ride your old bike last week and it was really nice. Gary has added the new adjustable handlebars which are great. It was a cool day so I couldn't say whether the Baker air wings were good or not.

They close off the cold coming on you and on hot days open them up to put air where you want and I stayed cool all the way home from Spyder fest last year and love it. So is Gary taking good care of my old gal. Hay Gary send me some pics of the old Hal with you on it and off ok. Seyall soon in aug on the 20 th for our 40 years life with each outher.

Adjustable Wings

To each his own, I think the new wings are very good, when closed they act just like the old wings, half open they direct a good amount of air to the passenger, fully open they direct more air to the driver. easily adjustable when riding down the highway. for my money they were a good purchase. They do not interfere with the half cover like some other products do.

Newly added

I just purchased some chrome ones and got them on a few days ago. Kind of wish I would have gone with the plastic ones but I still love the look and function of them. Going to come in handy this summer when it hits 105-112 for about 90 days straight. Love the desert in the winter but sure is challenging in the summer.

I picked up a set at SpyderFest, and have been completely satisfied with them! :2thumbs:
(Mounted them up in Len's parking lot, and gave away the old chrome pieces that I removed)
