There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hi all,
Got the new baby ( RTS 2017)delivered on Friday, got to wait the first of March before I can ride her,
Have a question about the belt tensioner (f3) type have purchased one from the USA. If I fit it now ,will it void any warranty work etc in the future, or should I wait till after the first service, so the dealer doesn't report it to you now who.
look for to reading your replies
cheers nasty.

the idler for about $38US is a BRP product so should not be an issue with the warranty

So far that has not been an issue. We have our RT being repaired as we speak and the dealer didn't seem concerned about it having the kit installed. Here is a thought: The other type tensioners have been used for years and I have not heard of a claim being denied because they had them on there. When in doubt, ask your dealer if it will make a difference, but it shouldn't.

Here's the thing....

The only item that could be voided would be the belt (if something should happen due to the tensioner). But then the belt is not covered by warranty as it is a normal wear item...put that puppy on and ryde.....:thumbup:

I would go for the Doc Humphreys upgraded one
I fitted the BRP one on my 2015 RT using Doc's adapter plate, but as soon as I found out about
his upgraded one I purchased it
Takes about 2-3 Weeks to get from the states but well worth the wait

Lloyd at OHG - UK On Hill Garage Spyder Dealer may be able to order one in from Doc Humphrey's

See my post #70 on the following link

Good luck and welcome to Spyder ownership in the UK

Dont forget to check the UKSPYDERWEB Facebook page lots of info on it

I just this week contacted my dealer to ask the same question. I was told that BRP has asked them to send pics of the tensioner are if there was a warranty issue. BRP will not warrant repairs on bikes that have the old style tensioner that needs holes drilled in order to get it installed. The new ones that bolt on do not affect warranty. If there was a concern with the new one I would simply remove it before taking it into the dealer for service.

Just drove home a F3T on Tuesday and asked about belt tensioner at parts counter

Local parts rep pulled up memo on his database and the gist of what I remember was that I wait until after the break in period to give the belt time to settle in, and then do a belt tension check and adjust to see where (what speed) I may find the vibration. Since our 15 RT's seemed to be tolerable at the speeds and belt tensions for over 40,000 miles, I'll wait and see what the longer belt on the F3 vibrates like. JMHO
