• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Hi,just bought a 2021 rt limited ,on my 2017 f3 limited in the glove box i could plug in a thumb drive in the usb port and play music. At the dealer I plugged in the same thumb drive in all the usb ports and it seems the rt will not play it. Did they do away with this option

Hi 3ntune,

I had the same expectations but this option is obsolte. You have to connect your smartphone (Android or iOS) via BT or via BT + USB when using BRP connect. It's a different approach ...

Kind regards,
Alex

You can also plug in most any MP3 player to the Aux (and even power it from the USB). I plugged the Aux cable into a Bluetooth receiver (powered by the USB port) and pipe music to it from my Garmin 396. I have also plugged the Aux into an old micro iPod and that worked well too - but I have to pull it out to control it. I guess they are trying to force us into "smart"phone and BRPConnect.

1: either another BRP connect failure:barf:& or2: another case where factory failure to connect speakers :barf::mad::mad: Either way bad BRP:sour:

Yep, we have to go to bashing BRP without even comprehending what the OP said. He ask specifically about plugging a thumb drive in and it not playing, nothing about BRP connect not working or speakers not working.

This is the only thing i do not like about a so called Spyder Lovers website, too many people ready and willing to find fault, even when it is not there, and bash BRP.

I have an idea, how about all of you that think the Spyder and BRP is the worst thing out thre, sell yours, buy somthing else, and go away.

I do also, is it perfect, no, but nothing ever is. The biggest problem I see with BRP connect is that people do not take the time to learn and understand it. Lets face it, most of us but not all that own a Spyder are an older generation, and we are not known for our computer savvy, or electronics capabilities. I also know that if you are like me, it is much easier to say something is bad or junk and going back to what we know and are used to, than taking the time to learn somthing new and how it works.

Learning how BRP connect works takes some time and hand on playing with it to see what it does, once I learned how to make it do what I wanted it to do, it works great! I use it for music by streaming Sirius through my phone without haveing to pay for a second satilite radio, the 2000 plus songs on my phne, Pandora and spotify from my phone, iHeart pod casts, phonecalls, GPS, FOBO, all through my headset or speakers on the bike.

I never knew it was an option on the earlier models but was quite upset when I realized that was not an option on my 20 RT. I started downloading music to my phone now and it’s connected by Bluetooth to my bike.

:sour:Ya not bashing, highlighting maybe. Nope not getting rid of older & functional :spyder2: not getting into it. Pretty day to enjoy a ride, do the same

I want to plug my iPod in. There is a jack type device and as well what appears to be an Aux jack. Which one do you use? The manual is silent on this type of stuff.
