• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New 2017 F3T Battery not holding a charge

Battery

All very good TIPS. I definitely Would take the Bike to your local Spyder Dealer. Please let everyone know about the final fix.:yes::yes::yes: Little Blue

cold

y are you starting it when its that cold for one two you are probably not letting it run long enough to put charge back in from starting it just my 2

Take it in and let them test the battery. IF its bad they will let you know.

Or if its a charging system issue that can be checked with a voltmeter when running.

Even your local auto store will test the battery for you for free.

Just a thought, in your original post, you said that it would not start even with the battery tender on; 1. did you mean that it had been on the battery tender and then you took it off?, or 2. did you try to start the bike with the battery tender attached? If it was #2, I would check the battery tender as the instructions clearly state that you should NOT try to start the bike with the tender attached. Just my 2 cents.

No I never start with tender connected. I have already taken the Frunk Tub out of the Frunk to get directly to the Battery to take a look see once again and put the clamp battery charger on directly to the posts. Let it charge over night. Battery charger says battery is charged, try to start but battery still is not strong enough to turn the engine over. Put clamp battery charger back on and it shows battery needs a full charge again. I have called the dealer and waiting for a call back. I can use the Lamonster Jump pack to start her up, lets just hope I can get to the dealer.

Dealer is only about 2 miles, Hopefully I can make it with no problems. Spyder seems fine, once started. He told me to bring it in early tomorrow. They have a process to see if battery is really bad (charging it for several hours) if it is a bad battery it will be covered by warranty and they will replace it. If it is not the battery then they will have to keep longer to trace problem. I will keep you posted.

It was the battery, cranking under 7 amps when fully charged. They replaced under warranty. They also checked the charging system which was over 14 amps when running. So good to go.
