I bit the bullet and traded my 2013 RT (just bought it in Aug last year) in for a 2014 RT -- WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I picked it up from the dealer yesterday and even on a cloudy, kind of misty day, the 80 miles I put on were GREAT. I have a set of local roads with curves, hills, etc that i have been using to judge my improvement in handling a trike, and I tried the main ones yesterday. This new trike sounds better, shifts better, ride better. There was no excessive heat (of course at 64deg there shouldn't be). 80 miles used just over 1/4 tank of gas; my 2013 would have used over 1/2 tank.
The biggest difference though was the handling. The steering was so much easier and responsive - I had not heard that in reviews, but it certainly was true for me. I rode my local curves and found every one vastly improved in handling. My husband was on his GL1800 trike and with our headsets on he must have heard me whisper or cheer my satisfaction in his ear a 100 times during the ride.
I had been nervous about the decision to trade bikes right now, but oh yes -- it appears to be very worh it.
Ride on!! and it is off to Mt Snow next weekend for my first ride as trike owner for the MFD charity ride.
So looking forward to it.
