i just purchased my first spyder. i have put 200 miles on so far. My wife told me she can smell something burning from the rear so today when i dropped her off at work i walked around and there is a smell. Could this just be the belt breaking in or does anyone have any ideas? Love riding it and looking forward to some road trips in August.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

n your new Spyder. Mine had that smell at first also, but it went away after a few miles (200-400). As bgame stated have your belt alignment checked to be sure.

I attributed mine to brake dust and belt. Gone now at 4000 miles.

Good to hear others have had this issue. We noticed the same smell at about 500 miles but it's long gone. Just had the 3000 mi service. The dealer checked the belt and all was good. I love this bike!
