• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New $200.00 trans filter & cover ??

Questions

New member
I have an 2014 RT SE6. The dealer just told me that my first 3000 mi service will be $400.00 because they have to install a new trans filter & cover required by the factory,

Is this correct? Goggled for recalls and new requirements, but don't find anything.

Thanks for your guidance,

Gary.

I think you need the dealer to clarify

I think the 3,000 mile svc. is $400.00 and the filter cover should certainly be a no charge warranty item.

Thanks for the advice folks.

I discussed the things all of you suggested with the dealer today. They said I should call some other dealers. I called four dealers (problem is they are all over 100 miles away) to my surprise the prices for the complete 3000 mile service ranged from $145 to a high of $250. My dealer, as mentioned is $400.00. I gave this info to my dealer and he said " Let me get back to you later.

So we will see what happens.

Thanks again for the info and support.

I just paid $231, and that included the tax! 1.5 hours labor at $89/hr.. Tom :trike:

Yikes..!!

get a new dealer fast...it is true that the transmisdion filter is expensive but you don't change it for 28,000 miles (if memory serves me) one of the savings on the new engine. No valve adjustment ever and nor trans filter with every oil change. Have them check the maintenance or show them in the manual..:yikes:

Still waiting

Haven't heard from dealer yet. I too noticed the trans filter should not be changed until 28,000 miles. Mentioned that also.

Thanks,

Gary.

Loyalty to your dealer is fine, but I suspect you will die with a phone in hand waiting for a call back from them.

Went to dealer this morning.

They wanted to charge me $450. for oil and filters, both regular filter and HCM oil filter.

Long story short, I called BRP customer service, they said no recalls or bulletins on changing HCM filter sooner than 28000 miles unless a problem is found. I told Service Mgr. not to change HCM oil filter.

3000 mile service cost me $250. $80 in parts, the rest is labor.

Next time I will do all myself.

Gary,

PS Thanks again for your previous thoughts and advice.

Changes to the new motor already?

Was the SW thinking of the new cover and larger filter for the older models?
