There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Nelson-Rigg CL950 Deluxe Saddlebags

I have to say that I ordered these bags on your recommendation and based on your pictures and I love them. I have yet to fully utilize them and I feel like I have plenty of carrying capacity now.

The only complaint I had was getting the stiffener things in so that they don't just collapse. That sucked a lot. It took me a good couple hours to do all three bags (I also bought the roll bag for the passenger seat, since I ride alone) and I was -so- sore afterward. Holy cow.

However, they look fantastic and as I said -- plenty of room to carry whatever.

Glad to hear you like them as well. Sorry about your trouble with the stiffeners, mine went in without too much difficulty; however, I think I did eat my Wheaties that morning as well. :D

Best of luck with them, have fun and ryde safe.

Yea, the stiffeners are a tight fit but they have to be this way so they do not collapse and loose the shape of the bag. Would love to see some photos when you have a chance.

Straps are not long enough

I just received my CL 950's and when I tried to install them found out that one set of straps fits over the other one but only about halfway (short), the other set will not even reach each other.. Did you guys use some kind of extensions? By the way they look great, I want to install them...

Oh yes, one more thing, found out that the inserts go in much easier if you start from the tallest side (the side that mounts to the front of the Spyder)...

:dontknow: Are you putting the straps over or under the seat?
I have the same bags, i put the straps under the seat, both straps fit with no problem.

extenskon straps

Hi, extension straps are available directly from Nelson Riggs. Give them a call. They sent me a set for free. Good folks!

Same question.

When placed under the seat, they do not need to meet by very much at all to hold them in place. If you are trying to get the entire velcro tabs to fully connect, that is not going to happen.

I know this is an old post, but would like to know which NR bag you ordered and did it really work out well. I am going on a trip in the near future and I need some extra room! I was considering the CL850, but it could be to large. Thanks

To mount the saddlebags you lift the seat of the Spyder, and pull the large velcro straps across the machine:

Each bag also has a couple of auxiliary buckles that can be looped through the foot peg brackets and buckled down for added stability. Here is the right bag mounted on the Spyder:

This is the left bag mounted on the Spyder:

This is what the rear of the Spyder looks like with the saddlebags installed:

This is the right saddlebag with the rain cover installed. This cover should also work well to protect them against road dirt.

We already had the Can-Am Rear Seat and Console Bags, so my wife went ahead and mounted them as well:

And here she is, all loaded down and ready for the trip to Daytona in a couple of weeks:

Overall we are very happy with the bags at this point. We went for a decent ride today, and the bags stayed in place as they should and worked out very well. If you are thinking about doing something like this, I would recommend these Nelson-Rigg bags without any hesitation. They also have a bunch of other styles to choose from, to include ones with solar panels which really got the attention of the geek in me.

I know this is an old post, but after using these bags for a period of time, would you recommend them? I am considering buying the CL950 or the 850 (looks a little larger) I have the stock exhaust. Would heat be a problem? I called NR and they suggested calling a Spyder owner that owned the bags.

That's exactly how i put them on my 08GS [950's] I used them for at least two years and i also would take them off when needed and switch them to my 6n, I highly recommend them, And no problems with stock :thumbup:exhaust.
