The season is winding down for most of us with colder weather headed our way. Maybe not the best time to be asking for a Test Pilot. But I've got a new toy and I don't want to wait.
Most of the 2013/14 Spyders came with non-adjustable pre-load front suspension. Several SpyderLovers have asked me to create a device that would make their suspension fully adjustable. They say they are happy with the shocks. But they want to be able to adjust the spring pre-load as on other Spyder models.
BRP has come out with rubber inserts to address this problem. And I've heard they are an improvement. But they offer limited adjust-ability. Also, inserts can give a harsh ride because they simply take the load off of one coil and transfer it to another. An adjuster spreads the load over the entire length of the spring giving a firmer, but more compliant suspension.
So we developed an adjuster which can be added to these OEM shocks. It works in a similar way to most high quality systems such as Elka, Fox, Progressive, etc. It will not change valving, dampening, or other shock related functions. But it will make your spring pre-load fully adjustable.
I now have a set of prototype adjusters in my hot little hands. But Alas! I do not own a 2013/14 Spyder to try them out!
This is where the 'Test Pilot' comes in. I need someone with a 2013/14 Spyder with stock, non-adjustable shocks to install them and try them for me. This gives me an unbiased opinion that is invaluable.
This Test Pilot would need to install these soon after receiving them, and be willing to communicate with me giving reasonably detailed feedback on the installation process, adjust-ability after install, and changes in ride.
If you are interested, please PM or email me at [email protected] Either way works fine.
The support received from SpyderLover riders has always been GREAT!
