• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need your opinion my first long ride on the spyder

I have been looking for an airhawk for the past hour got to find one that will ship overnight being we are close to the weekend and shipping time for departure. :dontknow:

If you are still looking for an airhawk - check with a Harley dealer near you - they usually carry them - I have the upgraded seat and still like the sheepskin on it - cool in the summer - warm in the cold season.

Make sure you take a swim suit. Hit the pool every evening when you stop for the night when on the road. It will loosen up tired stiff muscles. Anything else you may not have with you can be picked up along the way. Ken krb1945

I am sure I am going to repeat some things already said... but here goes...

1. Plan to stop every 100 - 125 miles or every hour or hour and a half.
2. Get Ride-On for your tires
3. Make sure your maintenance is up-to-date and fluids are topped off
4. Carry an extra quart of oil cuz you never know
5. Carry extra coolant... again, you never know
6. Make note of any extra tools you think you might need and plan accordingly without over-doing it
7. Bring water and/or Gatorade
8. Bring spare fuses and a spare relay

Have fun and ride safe! :2thumbs:

+1 on the Russell seat. I would also throw in the LDComfort riding shorts/tights. I used both, along with the LDComfort longsleeve top on our trip of a lifetime with IrishtotheMax and I never had a sore butt or monkey butt:yikes:. I plan on using them again tomorrow for the trip to Chicago. I'm also going to use their helmet liner. I plan on wetting down the top and liner for the cooling effect. believe me it works. Gotta keep movin though.

Thanks for all the great advice i will post when i arrive. I just had the oil changed 2 days ago but i need to check all fluids again and air preesure should be smooth sailing leaving like 4am sunday morning at least until about 11am anyway. Probably hit beach traffic in VA.

I can give a big :2thumbs: for the Monkey Butt powder. Used it from NJ to Sturgis and on the ride back home. Helps out a lot!
Enjoy the trip and have a great ride!

Hey,
You won't have any problem. You have plenty of natural gel in your seat. Just relax and enjoy the ride. Don't worry about the time. Take good pics.
