Need to stiffen the front Shocks a bit.

I have a 2014 RT-L with the non-adjustable front shocks. Is there an inexpensive way to stiffen them? Dont need much, but I wanna tone down the buck n roll a bit on bumpy roads.

Tried the search here in the forums, but didn't get any result to the queries I tried.

Any help would be appreciated.

PitBull Power Sports at one time sold shock relocaters that were a simple bolt on that gave you more force from the shocks. Not sure if they are available for the 2014 .:dontknow:

rons swaybar will take most of it out .if that's not enough for you ,elka shocks are your next step

pm ulflyer. He posted about some rubber spacers that stiffened the springs on his 2014 RT. He had pictures, etc. I think it was $20 or so, but can't find the post now either.

I have ron's sway bar plus 3" spring rubber's on the shocks on my 2014 rt. Makes the ride about right for my weight and preferences.

.....They were for PRE 2013 frames and mounted on the top of SHOCK MOUNT......The frames on the 2014 are different ......................Mike :thumbup:

Vossr, the above is exactly what I did and they work well at little cost and effort. The ones shown are what I bought and you need to cut sections out to insert between the coils. I made mine about an inch to inch and quarter and put four in the lower coils. Used a band saw to cut them but you could do it with a hacksaw...might take a bit of elbow grease tho.

I also had the Ronbar but that wasn't enough to suit me.

:agree: I put these on my wife's STL and they raised the front end about 1".

I put hers at the top of the spring so they would be hidden.

You can also put one at the top and one at the bottom on each side if you want the springs even stiffer but the one was good for her Spyder.

Easy installation and pretty cheap.

I believe both BajaRon and Doc Humphries have the stiffeners for those nonadjustable shocks. They have tested them and found them to work well. The swaybar is a great help in handling as are the relocators. I have them both and installed them about a month apart and both made significant improvement. I do have adjustable shocks however and changed the settings for each...:thumbup:

I have both Ron's sway bar AND Doc's stiffeners. The stiffeners are a snap to install, and do the job.

Ron's bar helps flatten corners, and eliminate 18 wheeler wobbles, and the stiffeners keep the front off the tarmac.
