There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Need tire recommendations asap.....

It's not just your tires that are older my friend..... ;):roflblack:
It's not the age.....it's the mileage! :roflblack:

..... The tires really don't seem very worn, but the bike shop next door to me instantly said they were cupped... before I even mentioned I had a wobble issue.

Maybe the too stiff shocks caused some different kind of wear on the tires... thus cupping.

The wobble also varies based on the road I'm on. We've got some real ***** roads up here. I've often wondered about washboarded roads causing a good harmonic wobble on these beasts..........

Cupped tires are also a sign of worn suspension components.....shock bushings, a-arm bushings, ball joints, tie-rod ends. Stiff shocks and/or a stiffer swaybar can magnify problems caused by worn suspension components. The stiff shocks could conceivably cause th e tire cupping, but it is less likely they would cause the "wobble" by themselves. It is possible to set up a pretty substantial radial tire wobble on grooved roads, too.

:agree: Cupping is more suspension (shocks more likely) will solve your problem !

Tires

Just put on Michlin tires 165-65-14 went from Vegas to Washington no problems highly recommend tires had sway bar and Elko put on Spyderfest. These tires much better then those that were BRP ties.

Also, shock Change made zero difference. A thought on bushings/a frame parts.... Those shouldn't come into play when I'm spinning the wheels manually and can see the wobble. Gotta be unbalanced, bad tires or rims.

So when the nose of your BLUE RT (), in the air and you're spinning the wheels, are you seeing any runout in the wheels?
How about the tires? Could it be just a bad job of seating them?
Check the bead to see that it's actually where it needs to be...

If you are spinning the wheels and can see the wobble (runout), it is not a balance issue. Your problem lies in faulty wheels or improperly seated tires...or both. Wheels on a motorcycle have to be true within a very small margin to avoid shaking at speed. That goes for both the wheel and the trueness of the tire. balance is a separate issue, and is usually invisible...although wheel runout does create balance issues.

Well, here's the latest..... I'm 95% sure it's the tires.

Couldn't find any local shop that could spin them up and check them.... until I went to the local Discount Tire 3 doors down from my business. They've always done good for me, but have stated before they won't touch motorcycle tires.

Seems they've had a change in that now they will.

So I took in all 4 rims with OEM Kenda tires on them:

2 Originals with 8,000 miles on original rims. Original balance weights still on. No Ride-On.

2 Brand new tires mounted on brand new smoked chrome rims. No balance weights, but have Ride-On in tires.

All 4 tires are out of whack. You can clearly see the tire bouncing, but the rim stays true. Even the new tires on new rims you could clearly see bouncing. Most of it up and down, but some side-to side weirdness too.

So, we matched up the sizes and I ordered some tires from them that I'll get next Tuesday. I believe they are Bridgestone Protenza's.

They said those Kenda tires are really low-end... might not even rank 1 star with them.

I've always had the opinion of sticking with the tires that BRP recommends. It wasn't broke... so I didn't see a need to fix it.

But now it's broke, and I'm not throwing any more money out the window trying another set of Kenda's. If these Bridgestone's don't do the job, then I'll have to try something else.

I really don't care if I get over 10,000 miles on my fronts, I just want a smooth ride for those 10,000 miles. I've never got more than around 13,000 from the fronts and 8,000 from the rear... and tires and changes are pretty reasonable.... but I'll gladly pay a bit more to get a better ride.

The new tires very well may last longer, but I won't push it.

I'll be due for a rear after the owners event.... might change the brand up on that one too!

Really getting pressed on getting ready for the trip to the owners event. If this wobble doesn't go away with the new tires.... good chance I'll have to cancel the trip.

Yo Dan,
If you really feel the need to cancel consider riding my GS instead. nojoke

Some Girl and I are taking the new RT, so the GS will just be sitting around anyway.

Thanks for the offer..... but I think everything will come together okay for my RT. New tires should be mounted and good to go this Tuesday... gives me a week to see how it feels.
